“Another understatement”
Reviewed April 13, 2014

This is supposed to be a historical spot of the freedom struggle. It has been refurbished a bit, but occupies a lot of space in downtown Mumbai.

“Beautiful fountain”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

While walking to Starbucks which is down the street I came across the fountain. It is well maintained with no litter around it and the garden is kept up. It's a nice place to take a picture amongst the hustle of the city.

“Best place for books”
Reviewed March 15, 2014 via mobile

Surrounded by neogothic buildings the flora fountain is one ove the "must see" places in mumbai. However first time visitors to mumbai should know that this is a great place to buy books as well. Under the arcades on the left hand side of the square (going south) you will find the best book shop in mumbai, kitab khana. This nice and well kept shop also hosts regular readings and has a cafe. Across the square you have to move just a hundred yards towards the park and you will see a number of street vendors very popular among university students, who can often find their study books at a big discount. The best way there is to go with a clear idea of what you are looking for, since piles of books are not easy to search. But the vendors know what they have on store. Close to flora fountain you will also find the fully restored david sasoon library. Readings are often held in its small garden. I hope you will enjoy as I do.

“Historical buildings”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

The historic flora tower at Hutatma Chowk is surrounded by beautiful historic buildings of the bygone colonial era. This area is best to discover on foot, walking past the heritage structures for good photography.

“The forgotten Face of Mumbai - Flora Fountain”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

If you are coming to Mumbai (Bombay), you have to come and see this & take a picture in front of this to remind you of your trip. Ill maintained and surrounded by horrible planning. But this is at the heart of South Mumbai. If you haven't seen South Mumbai you have not seen MUMBAI itself. Explore the 6 km radius of this monument and you will take sweet memories of beautiful British Era Buildings, monuments, great architecture, wonderful roads, museums, art galleries, great eateries, shops, waterfronts - in short a very very happening place. Carry you Camera for loads of great photo ops.
