Owner description: This popular tourist district includes museums, the Gateway of India, a slew of shops and vendors on the Colaba Causeway and the Sassoon Dock, where fishing boats unload their pungent catches at dawn.

We could walk to the shore in a minute from our hotel but in the morning you had to watch your step in places to avoid the filth on the footpath. The view out over the water was good and it was easy walking to India Gate.

If you love street shopping, street walking, love the local crowd go colaba.it is a place where closely stands the proud taj hotel.cafes, shops, street vendors selling nice cloths, paintings, jewellery and lots of stuff for the cheapest.go around you will feel the spirit of true Mumbai. People running around ,no time to talk they walk walk and talk only on phone but some of the victorias' old school people chatting loudly and the fusion of old and modern in food, shops and everything which is offered here will delight your inner self as everyone wants the new but not at he cost of loosing the old!!

Good place for window shopping and actual shopping too.

Gateway of India is a good attraction here and so is the Taj Hotel.

Lot of good options for eating and night clubs too.

The museums (Chhatrapti Sanghralaya is quite good and worth a visit).

Colaba Causeway one of the famous commercial Street in Mumbai with every day carnival. The shopping experience you will get in Colaba Causeway will be nowhere in Mumbai, especially for the tourist. The place will give you everything “Sab Kuch Milega”.

The stretch of Mumbai from Colaba to Fort is a relic of British India. Old stone buildings marked by the Taj Hotel, Prince of Wales Museum Rajabhai clocktower etc. A bit crowde on weekdays but Saturday & Sunday is nice to stroll around , eat in small cafes, walk on the seafront - strakly different from rest of Mumbai.
