Reviewed December 17, 2013

Girgaon Chowpatty is one of the dream place for all people who are visiters and local Mumbaities to make it a point to come over here. It has very vast sea beach in heart of Mumbai. The people come here and enjoy sea breez, coolness and a piece of mind. The sand of Chopatty is wonderful place for chilren who make castle here, they also bring kit to play in wet sand. Its gives relax mood to one and all.Secondly sunrise and sunset are worth watching. The chowpatty is also famous for mumbai chatpata chats,Bhelpuri, and Ice cream, kulfi. Now the trends have changed people also like south Indian food items. The maxican foods like Pizza and Burger are also available. The nearby attraction is Birla krida kendra and Bands stand once upon a time Band was playing during British rules.

“Don't be afraid to eat the food here.”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

This is a great spot at sunset for people watching. We were initially taken there by Reality Tours and travel on their food tour and were told by the company that the permanent vendors selling puri and ice cream were safe and hygienic. We had snacks on several days during our stay and had no problems with sickness. The vendors often wore gloves and hair nets and the area around the stalls were very clean. The atmosphere was great and we spend several hours just watching people enjoy themselves in the evening sun.

“Good to visit but only in sunny season”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

Chowpatty is definitely not an attraction to visit in Monsoon season as I did. Like many other beaches and sea resorts in India, the life of this place dies during the rainy season so best to see it in the winter months when it comes alive.

“Not Baywatch...”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

The administration needs to work really hard to bring Girgaum Chowpatty to global standards. Good start by arranging the food stalls like an open air food court. Cleanliness has to be maintained on a regular basis. A private firm has also started water sports just before Chowpatty starts. Its quite expensive considering the theme is yet to catch up with the normal people.

In Mumbai one can visit beaches at Girgaum Chowpatty (nerest local railway stn is Charni road on western railway just half kms away )or Juhu beach (nearest local railway stn Santacruz west 3 kms away autos available from santacruz to Beach . This Girgaum Chawpatty is crowded and one can view Ocen from here with Big buildings at Malbar hills nearby and Air india bld, NCPA bld, etc at Nariman point . One can take a walk on Marine drive . The best time to visit in Morning or late evening .

From here Taraporwala Aqarium which is worth visit is just 5 minutes away .
Also one can visit Malbar hill gardens and Hanging gardens (twin gardens ) nearby .
