“Lovely hotel next to beach - ideal for out of town Mumbai/airport”
Reviewed February 20, 2011

We stayed for 3 nights, went off travelling and came back 10 days later for one further night. Hotel is 1/2 hour from Mumbai airport and the hotel has airport transfers for guests. Stayed in standard room the first time and a luxury room the last night. Luxury room was much better quality finish esp bathroom. Breakfast really good. Hotel has lovely swimming pool and beautiful terrace looking out over Juhu beach and the sea. Staff lovely and really helpful. Would highly recommend if you want to be close to Mumbai but not down town. Took about 1 hour to get into city. Has a fabulous disco on 1st floor. Would recommend going to Vie bar, short walk down road, rather than hotel bar which was v boring.

I'm incredibly surprised at the positive reviews of this place. I am in complete agreement with Dee1978's review. The hotel's website classes it as a 5* and tripadvisor as a 4*. its neither. For the money we paid i was expecting something much much more. The lobby is lovely but behind the facade the hotel is very old and dated. The rooms smelt of damp and the bathrooms are an absolute disgrace for a hotel of this calibre. we too asked to be moved to another room and were told a better room would be available the next day. we had arranged to be out all day but were told to pack our bags and they would be moved while we were out. we reminded the desk in the morning and when we got back, surprise surprise we hadn't been moved to the new room, which was now no longer available. after speaking to the manager (who was very helpful, unlike the rest of his staff) we were moved to another room on another floor which was much the same but it smelt less and had a sea view.

the other MAJOR problem is that the hotel is located directly underneath the flight path. there were planes going over head every 20-30 minutes minutes and they were LOUD. we were hoping that they would be less frequent at night but we were woken up every night around 3am when about 5/6 planes would go over in the space of half an hour.

it wasn't exactly the dream end to our honeymoon. When we got stuck in mumbai for an extra 3 nights because of delayed flights due to the snow in the UK, we couldnt think of anything worse that going back to the sea princess so went elsewhere.

We stayed at the The Princess after several friends and family had recommended it to us. We also looked at reviews on Tripadviser and despite the cost being more than we had originally budgeted for, we decided to stay there.
We got off to a bad start as their car had not arrived at the airport to pick us up. After an hour's wait and three phonecalls we finally got picked up. Our reception was pleasant but considering our wait at the airport, the staff weren't very apologetic. These things happen so we went to our room, anticipating a fab room to relax in.
The room was clean but very basic and very dated. It was nothing like we'd expected. We had views to the side overlooking another building and the place generally just felt average and a bit musty.
The bathroom was really disappointing. Although it was clean, it was very very old and had clearly seen better days. A bulb was out over the shower and I would think twice about taking a soak in the peeling bathtub.
Breakfast was good and the service at breakfast was also of a reasonable standard.
That evening we asked if we could change rooms as the room was not of a standard we were expecting. We also asked if there was a set of rooms that had been refurbished, to which they answered yes. We were promptly moved, however, imagine our surprise when the only difference from our first room was that the room was on a different floor! Same room, slightly worse bathroom (the shower only worked when you held the knob in place!) and a small slit of a view to the sea!
What was even worse was that the reception staff weren't very helpful. We asked three times where a nearby well known beauty parlour was. Not only did they not offer to get in touch with them for us as would be expected, but we were given three different directions! One receptionist even told us she was going to find out and call us in our room. Two hours later, no call and when we went down personally, she looked at us completely blank!
In summary, this hotel is at best average, dated and very overpriced! The location is fantastic, but for what we paid, we expected a hell of a lot more! I definitely won't stay there again and would not recommend it to friends either.
Sea Princess, you really disappointed us!

We had a large group staying at the hotel. The rooms were good and clean. The view from the presidential suit was mind blowing. The hotel was on the most famous beach of Mumbai (Juhu).

The food served was very unique and innovative. The food was pretty good. We didnt had the time to enjoy the amenities offered by the hotel and we just had a single night stay.

The hotel has the best disc in town at the moment. "Trilogy" The crowd for disc was super. Its surely the best place to enjoy mumbai's nightlife.

This is a great hotel to visit with your spouse. We had taken a beach facing room and could vies the sunset from our room. The service was very good, though was a bit dissapointed with the food. The desserts did not seem to be freshly made. Overall had a great and memorable stay.
