The thing is.... we stayed here solely because of it's location (around 10minutes, traffic dependant) from the international airport... and after spending 4 weeks in India the overwhelming memory I have of this place is how expensive it was compared to the rest of Mumbai, India, indeed Europe.
200 rps an HOUR (nearly £3) for internet connection if you have to use the "Business Suite" (dank room with one pc and a printer) is outrageous and up to 10x what we paid in the rest of the country, and unless you do the pizza special you will be lucky to get change out of £8 / course for dinner. Breakfast is mediocre and who in their right mind thought to put a restaurant next to an indoor pool clearly had no sense of smell or hygiene.
I think the hotel is trying to be something it isn't. It is not a 5 star US or European hotel so it should stop trying to act like it... ask a question, like where is, e.g the business suite immediately means you have to wait for a porter to come so you can be escorted to it. On the plus side it was spotlessly clean and really comfortable and the free transfer to and from the airport is really handy. There is little around the hotel of interest, and it is MILES and (probably) HOURS from Fort and Colaba so only stay here if you have a late arriving flight or an early departure, or you just can't face the drve into town

Location is the only good thing about this hotel and also the food which was quite good .
Rooms very good too but it is slightly overpriced to the facilities they are offering.

Stayed: January 2007

The VITS is a good hotel near the Mumbai international airport for business travellers like me with a more modest expense account too low for the typical N.American chains.

I had no issues with the food - Good Indian fare, but I always seem to have issues connecting with their wireless internet service.

We stayed here based on the reviews we read on Tripadvisor. My feelings are very mixed. It is close to the airport and at 3am the bed looked very inviting and it was comfortable. There was a mix up (I had made a mistake with the dates and arrived several hours earlier) with our booking. This took a very long time to resolve and at one point the manager said our only recourse was to sit in the lobby for 3 hours until our booking time. "You can not be serious! " He could not seem to see logic; it was exhausting trying to convince him to give us our prepaid room. The room was available, we had paid for it but we couldn't use it. Finally he relented. Even his staff thought he was being unreasonable.
The most hideous thing about the hotel, as many have remarked, is the musty dark courtyard area which houses the most ridiculous swimming pool. The pool is in shadow due to its strange position. It is surrounded by the several stories high hotel building. Placed around the pool's edge are very shabby breakfast tables and chairs. The whole place is worn and tired in appearance. The food was also greasy; cheese lay melting in the heat. Most unappetizing and off putting! I would not bother with this hotel again.
