TATA grp is always best
This five star deluxe hotel, haven of comfort and style gives us lovely views of the city.
My stay at the President was extended due to the volcano ash travel chaos...for my first 3 nights I was in an 8th floor room which was fine (getting a little dated perhaps) but for my next 6 nights, I was upgraded to a 15th floor room which was much much nicer. Service overall was fantastic - from the politeness of the security / concierge staff to the check-in and general hotel staff, I always felt valued and welcome. There was a brief power outage one day and the wifi was terribly slow (followed by internet going down in the business centre) but these technical issues aside, I loved my stay and would return again happily. The hotel bar and restaurants are renowned and loved by locals and visitors alike - they have a real buzz about them.
Luxurious and only Luxurious. No word to say anything. Special customer service. Every staff finds customer as a family member. Sinery is superb. Gate way of India in front of it. Staying in this hotel means just Staying in front of Gate of India. Food Quality is marvoulous. Slightly Costly. But if you want a pleasure then dont think of other hotel.
This hotel, particularly the lower level rooms, is in serious need of an overhaul. The beds are twin size, the bathroom is subpar and the hallway smelled like mildew. We attempted to be moved to another room (the hotel staff was very courteous), but unfortunately the hotel was booked during our stay. The upper-level rooms were very nice compared to the rooms on the 2nd floor. Despite the pitfalls, breakfast was good, and the hotel bar had a very nice ambience. You are subjected to bag checks before entering the building, and you have to walk through a metal detector with armed guards standing by the scanner, but it for your safety...so I would not be alarmed. Otherwise, Taj President is located in a great area, which makes the Gateway of India, shopping and nightclubs easily accessible. Also, there is no ATM inside the building; however, there is a bank located down the street so if you need cash in a hurry it can be easily obtained by a quick walk to the bank. Make sure you take a trip to Elephanta Caves, which is accessed by boat from the Gateway of India. There is great shopping and you can haggle ALOT. The caves are a very nice site to see. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others...but I would highly suggest that you ask for an upper-level room.
