“Excellent Location & Service”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

This is fantastic property on the picturesque Marine Drive. The gym and Spa are world class and actually one of the best I have seen. The staff are extremely attentive to your needs and anxious to ensure that even your smallest requirement. Housekeeping is very particular about every detail. If you leave your laptop cable lying about, they wrap it neatly and secure it with a practical tie. If you use your moisturizing lotion, they notice that and leave you extra. And so on.

The complimentary desert left behind every day is absolutely sinful.

There are very good restaurants in this hotel and the adjoining Trident (owned by Oberoi). I would recommend the Italian on the reception level or the coffee shop in Trident. The Pizza in the coffee shop is exceptionally good.

The downside is the entrance to the hotel is in the basement and does not make for an impressive entrance and parking is also quite an issue.

Room Tip: Get a sea-facing room. The view of the Arabian Sea in the morning is spectacular.

Excellent stay with them , Rooms are good but not much spacious ,good breakfast ,excellent food served in ziya restaurant because they serve gr8 Indian food .it's a class .Excellent staff , check in was at ease very cooperative and friendly assisted dedicated staff . Something I disliked was the laundry thing ,I had my 5 month old daughter with me whose clothes were washed at hefty expensive rates whereas in other upmarket hotels you get it for compliments .secondly they don't have much options for hotel cars .hotel experience was good but I expected a bit more from the oberoi .

Oberoi hotels are famous for their hospitality and sincere-ness in their hospitality. The comfort, luxury, service are great. But I would say compared to the other Oberoi's in India this one is lagging behind for some reason. You would have to feel it to believe it. Food was great and the restaurants and its chefs are very friendly. They even dished me out a recipe for satisfying my curiousity!

we originally arrived to the Taj Mahal Palace as we wanted to experience the "palace" feeling. after 2 nites we decided we couldnt take the musty smell and the tiny room with no view (and we were upgraded!) so we went to the Oberoi (we had stayed in 3 other oberois around India and all 3 of them had been outstanding in every way).
As soon as we stepped in to the lobby we felt as we were coming home. its no exaggeration.
everyone greeted us so warmly.
We got a huge suite with a spectacular view of the Mumbai bay.
The entire staff of the hotel, from the greeter, to the valet to the waiters in the restaurants are trained to perfection.
The location is perfect because its near the most important attractions. The traffic in Mumbai is crazy so this is very important.
If i ever go back to India, i would only stay in Oberois.

My colleague and I thoroughly enjoyed our four-night stay at the Oberoi Mumbai. I was last there perhaps 15 years ago, when Mumbai itself was a very different place. The service today is of unparalleled quality. Highest level. You do not walk 10 steps until a staff member is inquiring about and attending to your needs. Your name is known instantly as if staff already knew everything about you and your needs for taxi, train tickets, etc. And they do! Coffee/toast requested, shoes shined, etc. Room service or the butler are there instantly and the service provided with efficiency and politeness with zero delay. When I had already checked out but had a few hours before leaving for the airport, the manager immediately offered me a room to relax and wash up in free of charge (admittedly this was right before monsoon and the hotel was not filled to capacity). Nonetheless gestures are made here. The room was wonderfully appointed. At the level of the best and most expensive business hotels in any city in the world. The only suggestion I would make is that the pool area was serviceable, but otherwise pedestrian and plain. Some $$ should be invested to make the pool "pop" for the guest just like the rest of the hotel does. Otherwise, I have no problem recommending Oberoi for all future business trips to Mumbai.

Room Tip: There is only one good side of the hotel for a view worthy of a stay at the Oberoi-- Oceanview. Oth...

The Oberoi continues to maintain outstanding levels of service, comfort and some great F&B options. I am a regular if work takes me to down town Mumbai and never have they disappointed me. Everything works with clockwork precision and it is greta to be greeted by the same staff over the years. The rooms are spacious, contemporary and very quite. I am a light sleeper and relish the calm & serene atmosphere of the hotel in an otherwise rushed & noisy Mumbai.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the sea, the view is spectacular. I prefer ooms that do NOT face the adjoining...

I was very pleased with my recent stay @ The Oberoi.
Security understandably has been very much beefed up, but is still deployed in a comparably low key and hassle free manner. While we had a minor hick up with baggage upon arrival, with the porters inexplicably leaving one bag in the taxi, this got solved reasonably quickly after the initial confusion had been cleared.
Rooms are modern, equipped with the usual amenities wth sme nice twists in the bathroom, service is excellent and I found the staff very friendly and generally willing to assist, if sometimes even a bit overeager during the breakfast. Location is great as you can enjoy a stroll or run on the seafront, it's a quick cab ride to South Business district and still ok (in a city like Mumbai) to and from the airports.
Business rates are good value for money except the 30min free Wifi limitation other reviewers have also mentioned.
Will stay there on my next visit to Mumbai.

Room Tip: Mumbai is always noisy, the higher the floor the better for a good nights sleep
