“kind but not harassing!”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

It's difficult to find fault with this hotel, the staff is always ready, willing but not insistent in wanting to be courteous anyway. The kitchen is great, the pizza as well. Any request to change on dishes was performed to perfection, very compliments to the Chefs! It's perfect for extended stays, the botanical garden with swimming pool, in addition to the spa, the gym, etc.., offers the right relax during the weekend. It's the third time I go to Leela in a few months and, of course, will still be my choice in the future. Ciao.

Room Tip: The best rooms are the ones who look at the botanical garden and the pool. But all the rooms are sti...

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last few years. The hotel rates are reasonable for a five star hotel which offers complimentary car service to and from the international and domestic airport The Citrus and Lobby Lounge staff are friendly and efficient. The buffet breakfast is great and I have to highly recommend the cappuccino and espresso by Lokesh, Restaurant Manager at Citrus. The area around the swimming pool is really nice except for smoking that is allowed in the evening. GHA members also get free internet.

Thank you for your kind words.

I am glad that you enjoyed our BMW fleet service – the only one of its kind in the city, the stellar spread and service of Citrus and our verdant poolside. Unfortunately, since the law of the land does not permit smoking indoors, we are bound to offer alternatives to our patrons. I shall work with my team to explore other areas that may be earmarked for the same.

We look forward to extending our award-winning hospitality to you and your friends the next time you stay with us.

We booked the hotel from their website on a 'guarantee only' with our credit card. However the monies were taken twice and it took a while to get the money back from the hotel.

We were upgraded to the club level on arrival because of this problem.

At the pool, there were no bottles of water brought around. When we asked for two small bottles, we received a bill! Never ever in years of travel have we had to pay for water at a hotel of this calibre. Really mercenary.

We had a far more serious problem than this though. We asked the female concierge to check our flight which was at 2 p.m. This was at 10 a.m. in the morning. She told us it was on time.

We hung around a while and when we arrived at the airport at 1.00 p.m., we were told the flight had been cancelled a week ago! We were stunned, the concierge obviously had not bothered to check anything at all. Had we known the flight was cancelled, we could have left earlier for the airport. As it was, they put us on a 7 p.m. flight to Delhi and then we had a 6 hour drive to Gwailor.

We were really furious, this was most unprofessional and not the kind of thing one expects at the Leela. We had previously tipped this concierge as she had bought train tickets for us!

Disappointed in this hotel, not up to the standard of the other Leelas we have used.

Room Tip: Really airport accommodation, not luxury as professed.

Greetings from The Leela.

At the outset, I apologise for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay with us.

I have, personally, spoken to my team members concerned with Reservations and Concierge services to find out the cause. This was a complete oversight on our behalf, and rest assured this shall not recur.

Since your stay we have also reviewed our policy, and I am happy to inform you that we now offer bottles of water to our guests relaxing by the poolside. This is with our compliments.

I hope you will give us the opportunity to host you once again on your next visit to the city.

Best Regards,
Gaurav Singh,
Resident Manager.

This is an outsatanding hotel. I have been several times and they keep getting better. They ofer you free same day laundry service, different kind of pillows, very clean, large and quiet room. What is really amazing is the restaurant couisine. The Indian cooking is superb. During breakfast they have a wide selection of dishes (my favorite is DOSA with different kinds of chutney) and at night the buffet is excellent. The Chefs there are kind and friendly, it is like dinner with a family. Because I was departing very early didn't have the chance to breakfast the 3rd day. They prepared a full breakfast to go, that was difficult to bring on board because of the size of it. Every thing was delicius and the other pasangers were just staring to my private breakfast instead of the airline normal meals. The reception and concierge were very kind and helpful always. The dayly ride to downtown with the hotel transportation was first class too. this is a hotal difficult to match, but someone told me that the one in New Dehli is even better!!!!

I have stayed in this hotel for many times and every time I feel good and impressive about the place and its services.
Every room I've ever stayed were all nice and clean, equipped with super cozy and fluffy bed cushions and pillows and many more.
The hotel is close to The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport of Mumbai but I never have problem of noisy engines in room.
I like their well designed gym & spa, shopping area underneath lobby floor and beautifully vintage pool side area.
I'm so happy getting chance staying there often.

Arriving by plane from the city of Aurangabad, Maharashtra, and continuing to Europe next day, we spent one night in Feb. 2013 at this luxury property. The hotel is as close as it gets to the International airport (5 min by taxi). However, from what we have seen it would definitely justify a longer stay to explore that area of Mumbai - the hotel is quiet, in spite of the location close to the airport, and set in a lovely garden. Our room (standard double, fourth floor) was spacious, well equipped, comfortable bedding, marble bathroom, complimentary fruit basket etc. Check-in and check-out were handled efficiently and courteously.
As we had to get up early next day, we ordered dinner (mutton rogan josh, dal, bread, rice and a two of beers) from the room service. The food was delivered within 20 min, perfectly presented and of excellent taste and quality. Considering this, even the rather high price (for Indian standards) was acceptable.

On the slightly negative side we have to mention that - as is found in many hotels, even five star business hotels, in India, - excessive fees are being charged for WiFi in-room internet access. Also, we were disappointed of the fact that it was impossible to get even a simple breakfast consisting of coffee/tea and some toast at 04.30 in the morning; at an airport hotel one could expect such a service.

The Leela Mumbai had been designed as a hotel offering luxury and convenience to the business traveller. Our proximity to the airport is an advantage and our interiors are created to be a sanctuary of peace. I am delighted to know that your stay was pleasant and the facilities provided enjoyed by you.

To address your concern, Citrus – our award-winning all-day dining restaurant is equipped to present an a la carte meal at any time of your convenience. I shall speak to the team to understand what went wrong. As most five-star hotels in the city, we offer wi-fi at a fee that is competitive when compared to hotels of a similar profile.

I hope to welcome you at The Leela Mumbai soon again.
