There is nothing special about Fashion street except old iconic status linked with Mumbai. Besides name you can consider it as an everyday street market which requires lot of haggling and smartness to make a justified and reasonable purchase.

Streched from CST station to Charchgate place place to buy cloths. For mens T-shirt starting rang from 100 Rs. Jeans - 300 Rs. Shirts -+ 150 Rs.
For girls top starting range - 80 Rs. etc...

If you think you will get low quality cloths in cheap price then think again. Its Bombay... You will get quality best cloths in less price.

Shopkeepers tells you a high price but you should be expert in bargining.
E.g. if Tshirt is cost Rs. 500 you ask him to sell it into 80 Rs. Dont feel shy while bargining. He will make sell price 300 Rs. you increase your pirce like 100 Rs & stay on 100 only. or start leaving shop. he will definatly call you & deal final....

FS not just has cloths but also nice watches & sun glasses too. Street is clean & well maintained. You wont get tired by walking. Though space is little conjusted but still you will enjoy it. Dont enter directly into shops. first roam the whiole market & then choose.

It is good that FS shops does not use plastic bags, They use paper bags.
So pack your pocket & go for best shopping in town.!!!!

This is a row of market stalls, you can find bargains here. Remeember to barter, if someone says 500, go in for 200, then close at about 250 or 300, but no more!

Great atmosphere and plenty of bargains to be had, there are 2 stalls here which a new friend of mine showed me, they have next, house of fraser and desiner dresses for next to nothing, like 400 rupees each, 600 for 2. Find this stall, have a rummage through, be prepared to choose what is there in your size as they are samples but are amazing quality and dirt cheap! The kind guys will even let u try stuff on in the back, watch out for sneaky eyes peering at you!

Bargains to be had, enjoy shopping here!

keep your wits about you, careful with your purse as with any area in Mumbai and wondering hands which wanna brush past, keep distance, protect yourself, keep people out of your personal space.

Fashion Street @ South Bombay is your China town, Dollar Store, Walmart & flea market rolled into one, and going even cheaper! If you thought the place was down-market, just count the number of swank cars parked with their ACs running, before you check in!
Located between Fort and Metro Cinema, Fashion Street refers to a wide road with one side full of about 250 shanty shops, stocked and overflowing with T shirts, shirts, skirts and the like, for prices you would burst out gasping at!
Rs 100 (2$) for pretty and neat ladies footwear which will last a minimum of 6 months, with regular use.
Rs 100 - 250 for the best T Shirts and the choicest messages & lasting print.
Rs 100 - 300 for lovely skirts, sarongs and shorts.
If you still don't get the picture, then you need to be there to believe it.
And, if you get the picture, anyway, you would end up there before you know it!

I was shocked to see just 1 review of this true shopper's paradise!
If you are touring, all you need is to start here, get yourself less than a 1000 bucks worth of clothes, and at the end of the rugged trip, still get to take it home and keep flogging it for another year at least!
To give you worldly comparisons, the T shirt I picked up at Louvre for 12 Euros, at Pisa for 11, at Venice for 13, are all available here for less than Rs 150 (2.5 Euros!). And they are of the same quality, and similar print; that is, if you can identify good cloth and print on your own, without Lee or Benetton staring back at you for a fortune!
Just keep off the sporty shoes sold here though, unless they are for growing kids with size changes every 6 months. Never use one of those for running or sports; you may end up with a twisted ankle beyond the first 2 days!
But that said, do make it a point to spend 1-2 hours here if you visit Bombay for anything more than 24 hours. At such prices, it can never hurt! And when you are done, walk down 400 metres to Fort and buy yourself some books on the pavement 'seconds' stalls, for a tenth of their cover price, and in mint condition! You can even sell your old books there if you want them no more..
So, back to Fashion Street, this is where you never ever shall feel the economy struggling, booming or crashing.
It is always BULL here, no Bear, and that holds even if you ain't throwing no dollars, mate!
Be there, and experience shopping as it CAN be!

Great spot to pick up some clothes (shirts, dresses, skirts), shoes/slippers and shawls. You have to be able to bargain- I ended up paying 100rs for shawls, 150 rs for slippers and plan to go back to pick up a few dresses that were about 500 rs. Not sure if these were the best prices but I think I got a pretty good deal. There's vendors all along the street.
