Description: Established in 1959 by Trilok Singh Gandhi and his brothers, The Great Punjab is one of the oldest restaurants in Mumbai. Mr. T.S. Gandhi is a pioneer in the hospitality business and was on the executive committee of the Federation of Hotel and Resaturant (FHRI), member of National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) and the Maharashtra Association of Hotel and Restaurant. The restaurant has been boasting visits from the film fraternity and the political circles alike. Known for its succulent kebabs, 'pilli' dal and for its homely feel the restaurant was a popular destination for all.T.S. Gandhi's two sons have continued with the family business. The foremost Great Punjab in Dadar, managed by Manninder Singh Gandhi (the elder son), continues to serve some of the old delicacies but keeping with the times has added a host of dishes like the pepper chicken to its delectable menu. The younger of the brothers, Arvinder Singh Gandhi, has started another restaurant under the same name in Powai targeting the younger crowd working in the city's upcoming corporate hub.The baton will soon pass to Dhruveer, son of Manninder Singh Gandhi. Having successfully completed his Hospitality Management studies in Switzerland, he is pursuing his studies in the acclaimed International College of Hotel Management in Australia. Carrying forward the family legacy and his grandfather's wishes, Dhruveer wants to open additional outlets of the restaurant that keep up with the ever changing palates of the Mumbaikars!

“Great for kababs”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

We went there as a family and this restaurant never disappoints!! We go there for the lassi, kababs and the dum biryanis and the quality is consistent, you know that it will be the same always. The ambience is great, never noisy and smoke filled unlike some famous restaurants. Always a place to enjoy with family.

“AMAZING PUNJABI FOOD!!!”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

The food is really good, its one of the few places i can even trust to eat at when i am under the weather. Try the paneer parathas as an app, and end it with a dal kichidi, topped with a custard. Sorted scenes are at GP!

“Amazing Food & Service !!!”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

Great Punjab Dadar is an awesome place and has lovely dishes to indulge your taste buds. I am a vegetarian but I love visiting Great Punjab for all the paneer dishes, dals, crisp rotis and biryanis. A speciality of Great Punjab is the Punjabi Golgappa which is a trademark starter for us and even the Paneer Lasooni is an amazing dish for spice lovers. Not forgetting the black dal which is yum and even the biryani which is outstanding. It is our every weekend haunt and the personalised service that we get at this place is just awesome !!!! It is a must visit for punjabi food lovers and there is a big list of dishes for vegetarians and non-vegetarians !!!!!!
