“Super value for money”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

I have been visiting this restaurant for many years and the taste just never changes...

BEST AND DELICIOUS SOUTH INDIAN FARE (READ TIFFIN FOR THE DIE HARD MADRASI IN YOU)....

Great simple South Indian fare... economical to the core but yet very clean and tidy... waiters and cleaners well dressed

I JUST LOVE THIS PLACE AND WILL VISIT IT AS LONG AS ITS THERE.....

“good to try. this place means many things to many people!”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

consider this: no menu cards. wait in a queue at the door for your turn. have hungry people wait for you to finish while you eat. and the service levels are stretched.

yet, there are people queueing up. and there is a reason why

the food. it's tasty, good quality (the chutney doesn't have dal ground alongside to bolster quantity, like most udupi restaurants have - even the top listed ones)and fresh. then there are the varieties of sheera.

the starting time: 5.30 am is a big crowd puller by itself. from cabbies to morning shift people for whom this is a great start to their day to revelling party goers -who round off a - until 5 am drinking/partying session with breakfast at Ramashraya before calling it a night (day?)

this place means many things to many people - thats probably the next biggest reason to the food & the early morning start. it gathered students to family folk, office goers to cabbies and the party set

it's a great pity though that most of these stellar udupi restaurants have remained a one location wonder, and haven't been able to scale up. it would've been nice to have many more of these around

“Best south Indian food ”
Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

Matunga is only known for South Indian food. And this one is def the best. Try the rava mysore onion dosa and the special sheera of the day. Idli dosa and the regular stuff is amazing. Don't forget to ask the waiter for malgapudi chutney and orange chutney and rasam. Goes well with most things. U can skip the kela bhajji and dal wada for sure.
