the 55 east is a good restaurant where you get value for your money. comparig with the other restaurants in the agrand Hyatt, this is a restaurant with a lot of choice of good dishes. choise of: Lebanese, Japanese, Thai, Indian (this time with Goan specialities) and western.
In the buffet was also included kingfisher and Sanfria (drink as much as you want).

And the dishes were very good, prepared by authentic cooks of the contries.

I've seen the people complain about how Fifty Five East does not change their menu but actually that is one of the reason I go there. When I go there, I don't go for all kind of foods. Even though some will want more variety of food, I just go there for the sushi, steak and desserts.
Although some say the steak is a little tough, it's the best of its kind you'll ever find in Mumbai where beef is a rare item to find. There isn't much variety of sushi but if you're into raw tunas or salmon, you can ask the chef to prepare a small dish of raw fish rather than sushi.
The best part of the menu is definitely the wide range of desserts; all sorts of fruits, cakes, icecream, waffles, puddings etc. BTW, they also provide local beers free of charge.
The price is very reasonable and they sometimes offer 20% discount if you book online. Be sure to check out the offer on the web before you go.

We ate dinner 3 times at the 55 east located at the grand hyatt hotel in santa cruz. The buffet is excellent with variety of international and indian. The variety are great and the food is excellent. There is sushi and other dishes and excellent desert bar. the only problem is that all 3 days the food was the same. I wish they could change the menu every 2 days. One gets fed up with the same food and a variety is a must

We had a buffet dinner at 55 East. The atmosphere was great. The staff was attentive. The food was very good. The only disappointment was the tenderloin steak which was a bit tough. However the whole experience of all the cuisines was very good, and I highly recommend a visit there. They cater for all tastes. Veg and Non-Veg. Also Sangria and Beer are included in the price.

Special thanks to the staff who were very helpful and accommodating.

One last thing. The sweet buffet was great. Although we were too full to sample all the enticing sweets, we did manage to find room for a large helping of Tiramisu, which was very good.

Will definitely go back again.
