Visited the Gajalee restaurant at Juhu, near Kala Niketan a couple of days ago. We have been regular visitors at this restaurant for years but found this time that the prices have gone up considerably and it is no longer value for money. The Bombay Ducks for which they are famous now cost Rs. 200 a plate on which there are four measly pieces and mostly batter. Half the size and double the price. However, they are still tasty. Service was very good. Ambience also good but sadly they have got too greedy. The prices of the sample fish platter which they drag out every time a customer walks in are also ridiculous. Sadly, I will not be visiting this place again in a hurry.

One of the best sea food restaurants in Mumbai, this restaurant is known especially for its bombay duck ( this is not a bird but a fish ) fried very crisp.
Tandoori crabs sold by size are also great. Prawn curry had with rice pancake ( amboli) and mutton ( goat meat ) with vade ( puffy fried lentil cake ) are all dishes worth trying
To wash all this down Sol kadhi ( a curry made of coconut milk and Kokum) is a necessity

The place is good for sea food but extremely expensive. Much more value is seen in small restaurants around
