We were a group of 5-6 friends who visited this place by accident a long time back (2008) and have made plans to go there again many times, but it hasnt happened till date. The review is based on how it was five years ago, so please dont mind.

It is a loooooong walk from the main entrance upto the caves, almost close to an hour (considering that you will be stopping and posing for photos along the way). The shuttle buses are jam packed almost all the time and you would lose out precious time waiting for it. The best would be to get your own car inside (for the ones who cant make it to the walk).

The place is best during or just after monsoons, where it is covered with a green layer almost everywhere. Beautiful caves, amazing view from the top. Fastet getaway for beating the city rush.

Nominal entrance fee, but a larger one for cars. No good eateries nearby. No proper restroom facilities.

Deep in the national park with trees , streams and waterfalls , only one hour from Mumbai by car ,
it is a special experience to be here . We came with Viator tours , very comfortable car and guide with lots of knowledge .Wonderful views of forest all around from top of hill .The caves are 6km from national park entrance , all nestled in the side of a hill with wonderful stories to tell if you stand quietly ! Beautiful carvings and decorated sculptures and so many different caves to see ...109 Buddhist caves of Serenity and Peace , Sound , Stillness , Insight , Harmony , Enlightenment .

109 ancient Buddhist caves to explore; many intact carvings and ornate sculpture. Be sure to get to know the local security guards as they will be able to show you the best of the site - be sure to tip as they will go out of their way to make sure you see all there is to see at this amazing site.
