We were moved to this hotel from the Traveller's Inn as they had prior bookings and we had just turned up a few days before.
It is in a good location, quite near to CST so you can walk to quite a few places. We agreed to stay because the first impression the rooms give is very good. They are all newly decorated in quite a swish way with very modern bathrooms (some attached, some not) the price for a reasonably sized room was so high we decided to risk the shared bathrroom as it seemed clean.
Well, the decor of the rooms was the only positive point in the end. Our room was tiny, the mini double bed had no walls on 3 sides and very little else could fit in. There was no window and if you smoke I would NOT recommend staying somewhere with no window. The shared bathroom was very small but modern and clean with a good shower. The a/c worked.
The worst thing was the noise. It was all generated by staff who seemed to have nothing better to do in the evenings but have a TV blaring from an empty room with the door open and shout to each other down the corridor (even after midnight). For a long time there was also a very loud noise going on that we discovered was water being pumped upstairs (why it had to be done so late we could not fathom). The manager was not very concerned with our issues at all and did not really do much to quieten his gang of unruly lads who were supposed to be working.
The bottom line is if you want to actually sleep, don't say here.
