Booked on hostels.com for 8 days, room #107 (next to kitchen) was ready, which we were thankful for. Comparable to Super 8 or Motel 6 in USA. Sheets & pillow cases were clean, although towels were a bit dingy. No bedbugs. Only saw one spider and one roach, so not too bad. Bathroom is shower & western toilet in one, but generally clean. No hot water, but didn't want any with hot/humid temps outside. Highly recommend A/C, since fan doesn't supply adequate airflow. Bamboo scaffolding & blue tarps on building for monsoon prep, so remember that if you are looking for it soon. Map it before you try to find it...remember it's on same block as Cafe' Universal. Staff was usually friendly and helpful. Cold waters & sodas in lobby & some meals provided for small charge. Internet was 60/- rupees per hour. Bags can be held for the day near reception desk. Check-out is noon. TV w/lots of channels, some English ones. Would most likely stay here again.

Room Tip: definitely prebook on hostelworld.com

the thing is, its hard to get value for money out of your hotel in mumbai. booked this one before arrival (as you have to as its always booked up) and paid quite a lot by Indian standards. checked in at 4am which wasn't a problem (had to ring the bell outside to be let in by the sleeping staff).

once in our room the bedding wasn't clean (dirty sheets and pillows) but as a frequent traveller to india this is something i'm used to. however the room was generally fine. the ac worked, the shower worked although it did go all over the toilet as the bathroom was quite small - and there was hot water if needed. don't recall having blankets/sheets but its so hot and we had our own blankets which we didn't really use. there is wi fi access in the hotel and one computer which is normally occupied.

the area of fort is a very lively part of southern mumbai, close to CST station (about 5 mins walk) and with lots of places to eat and drink on the doorstep. cafe universal next door does alcohol but its not that cheap. its a good 20 min walk from the hotel to colaba and probably the same to marine drive but its always a pleasure to wander around mumbai anyway. even the traffic didn't seem that bad!

for a budget hotel in mumbai, this is good. we stayed in much better places for much less in india so its hard to say its value for money, but its mumbai so different rules apply. generally though, reccomended.

We stayed 3 nights. It's not a luxury hotel but our room was very clean and staff very understanding and helpful in any situation. Perfect location, near railway station, nice restaurants and touristic sightseeing. A bit noisy during the night.

I arrived to Mumbai on March 3 and stayed at Traveller´s inn for only 2 nights as on the third night I felt sick and ended up at the hospital for 25 days!!
At Traveller´s Inn since my arrival there, the staff was incredible helpfull..
They helped us storing our luggage during all the time I was sick not asking us anything back!! (Very difficult to find in India)
They offered us help when we most needed it.. This shows the increidible quality of persons who work there.
I am very happy to have arrived there, the location is very good and there is everything at just some blocks away from there. You have access to internet and can as well buy food.
It is a very good place compared to other ones in the same area.

A good budget option in Mumbai. A bit overpriced, but it seems all hotels in Mumbai are ridiculously priced.

The rooms are around Rs 1000 without aircon an a couple hundred more with.

The location is great for people arriving/departing from Victoria Terminus (CST) Station. Within walking distance and not too hard to find.

The place was clean and the facilities worked. Warm water worked most of the time.

Free wi-fi in the lobby.

I would probably stay here again if I went back to Mumbai.
