I stayed last week at the Intercontinental and was surprised by the hotel driver's claim that the Dome was one of the World's Top 10 restaurants. Intrigued, I managed to visit one afternoon after a busy day, yearning for a relaxing evening.
Sadly, even as a hotel guest I was snubbed at the entrance and while about 70% of the tables were unoccupied! was seated an an uncomfortable bar table, squeezed in next to a very comfortable and vacant lounge setting.
I decided to try my luck at the wine list and quickly regretted ordering a glass of the oxidised Kim Crawford Pinot. Food was ok, however I did spend the next three days with a stomach bug. Given that I only ate in the hotel....somewhere some thing wasn't good. However I must say overall hygiene is severely lacking in all but the India restaurant at the intercontinental Mumbai.
