A very nice temple with beautiful location around. It is an easily accessible location with KSRTC Volvo buses continuously plying till the temple at top of the hill. Don't think of any other means of travelling to this temple as Buses are the best option!

Chamundeswari temple is not as attractive as the other monuments around Mysore. Though a historic temple, the new layers of paint on the Gopuram entrance has made the temple lose it's medieval charm. Unlike most temples of south India, foreigners are allowed to enter. Photography is prohibited inside.
For those interested in Dravidian temple architecture, Somnathpura temple (30km from Mysore) is a better place to visit.

We visited the tempel not knowing that there were some festivities that day. It was amazing. Packed with people we could enter for Darshan. Unfortunately, as it was so crowded, we only had limited time and space for admiring the building itself. But it was very impressive anyway. We walked down to the Nandi. It is a nice and very scenic walk. If you want to walk up bring enough water on a hot day.

The temple is so divine. We reached there by 7 AM and it was too rush as many people were waiting for darshanam. Chamundeswari devi darshanam was the best blessing we got on that day. The temple is so good and the way its built is just mind blowing. We offered sevas to devi and spent an hour at the temple. The prasadam given was one of the best that I ever ate. It was just amazing.

We really enjoyed our visit to this Temple. Driving up the Chamundi Hillsl gave us lovely views over Mysore and the visit to the Temple was quite a special experience. There were many stalls outside the Temple including ones with beautiful flowers and arrangements with coconuts which were being sold to people going inside. There was a coconut breaking station inside! There was lots of activity going on as well, including a musical procession with monkeys looking on!
