Description: Anima Madhva Bhavan is a concept restaurant which serves authentic, delicious, Mysore heritage food. Our passion is to serve the kind of food we eat at home which matches not just in taste but in quality too. The elaborate festive food is traditionally served on a plantain leaf. The food served is purely vegetarian and most of them even vegan. We place primary importance on hygiene, health and home style taste. We strictly don't use baking soda, Dalda, Palm Oil and other commercial ingredients which are accepted norms in other restaurants. We source the best quality vegetables for cooking which are even on display and sale. We have no experience in the Restaurant Industry. And this is our biggest strength because we don't do what is proven. We just do what is right.

We arrived here just before 8pm for dinner and where not greated of seated by anyone and where a bit confused as to how to order etc when no-one came to see us or give us a menu.

We moved to the seating inside, (where you sit on mats on the floor. Bit dirty) where after some time we were given a menu. We went to the counted to order only to be told they didn't have the options we asked for. There only seamed to be one option, so being hungry we went for that.

After an almost hour of waiting a banana leaf was placed in front of us and over the next 15 minutes things where slowly slopped with no care in front of us. The atmosphere was not nice at all and the staff felt as though they didn't want us here, they where just a bit RUDE.

When I asked what the different currys and spices where the man stated their names and walked off, I was none the wiser as to what I was eating. The food was very BLAND and mostly COLD, nothing special at all.

We paid around 130 rupees for each meal which is a okay price but I wouldn't pay it again for what we got.
If you come here I would also strongly suggest avoiding using the bathroom, it was dirty, there was no loo-roll and was generally not where I wanted to be feeling a little ill after the meal.

This place had a lot of high recommendations but we just had a BAD EXPERIENCE for no specific reason. We felt as if, although this place seams to be set up to give tourists a authentic experience... doesn't want tourists there at all.

I would not come here again.

Typical Brahmin style food where you are seated on the floor with a one feet sized table where food is served on plantain leaf. Donn't judge or expect the food will be spicy or less spicy.. They are authentic food which you can find in brahmins family.

One of the best experiences which you do not want to miss when you visit Mysore. Very tasty, also they serve food on normal table if you cannot sit on the floor.

If you would like to taste something original, tasty and memorable, that is the place : served on a banana leaf, this thali cooked with no oil and no garlic and made with 8 to 10 different things is very good. They serve as much as you want for reasonnable rate (170 Rs per head) and menu changes according to seasonnal products. You can sit and classic chairs and Indian style, carpets and low table.

If you want to taste one of the best vegetarian food in Mysore, this is the place. They have the regular thali (it is served in plantain leaf and unlimited quantity of vegetables, rice and roti). They do have a few good items on the ala carte too. Don't miss it for anything.
