“OK Food - Nice Atmosphere”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

I was here in the last week of Dec 2013 for Lunch.
It is the same typical village food fare as in Bangalore, since we had been to the Mall Of Mysore, rather than hunting for another restaurant for lunch, we happened to be here.
It is located on the 4th floor in the mall, there is no advertisement / info about the existence of the restaurant, except when you are in the third floor for the movies, there is a cut out placed here.
The food starts with the typical welcome drink (non alcoholic) with some nuts, later they had the usual fare like the chaat counter, south indian dosa counters, and the North indian counter.
There was the dal churma and the kaman dhokla from the gujarati stable, and some starters like veg ball manchurians and other things. Kala jamuns and the hot jalebis along with the ice cream formaed a part of the desert counter.
In all a good place to spend with family the only thing i did not like about the place was the seating arrangements as they do not have a comfortable chairs / sofas unlike other places.

“Fun and food”
Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

We had our seniors party at this place .
The staff very hospitable . Had lots of activities . Played the dhol at our wish . Played music at our convenience.
They have done a lot to give a north Indian village feel .
I didn't like the food much though. Not that appreciable .
But the buffet included chats . . Gola sweets and fresh jaljeera . Which were pleasant and fun .
I suggest this place for gatherings . You won't get bored .

“Good Village Experience”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Situated at the top floor in Mall of Mysore, you wont even know this place exists if not for the beating of the drums and the clanging of the cymbals filling your ears from wherever you are in the Mall. The atmosphere is superb and reminds you of the 80's movies and gives you a nostalgic feel about India. Here ends the plus points of the place. Don't get me wrong you have loads of varieties of dishes here which I am sure you wont find in the menu's of normal restaurants, but the taste just doesn't give you the feel of having authentic Indian Village food which is what they advertise with. A must visit for anyone near one place for whoever needs to enjoy the ambience but not for those with really hungry tummies.

“Its an experience!”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

If you are looking for more experience than food, then do visit The Village. It is more about the entire experience which you get here at The Village rather than just the food.
You get good food everywhere, here you get an experience of village along with good food.
The ambiance is of a village set up and you get to see puppet show, dance you way in between meals, participate in Musical chair- all with your meals.

“Good ambience Terrible food”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

It was my brothers bday and the first thing i planned was a movie and outing with family. We decided to try Village @ The Mall Of Mysore.
No doubt it has an ambience that can attract anyone Plus it was so pleasing that for a moment we start to thing this is not in the city but at a actual Village.
Now after the positive things, The food was really terrible. We felt as if we were at a charity function and were being given free food. The Guy making the tandoor roti was really in bad temper. They had rotis already made and when asked for fresh one he stared and told in a bad tone " Udhar pada Hai na ". Taste of the chats and north indian was so bad that we were completely empty Stomach when we returned home. The only thing we loved was their Gola Ice.
If you want to give food in a buffet and unlimited please take note that people who are paying 280 per meal can hav a decent meal anywhere in mysore and dont make your food taste so bad with the intention that people should eat less, That will only make you lose Customers. Remember always People Come to restaurant For Food Not Ambience.
