“Best lunch we had in India”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

We decided to visit this hotel one lunch time as we had heard good reports about it. It is a little way out of town and we had a lot of trouble getting a tuk tuk to take us there as they all said it was too far! Glad we persevered and persuaded one of them to take us, as it’s not that far at all really and definitely worth a trip!

The hotel looked lovely although we only took a quick peek inside and the cafe/restaurant is set in its beautifully kept grounds. It is cool and shaded and a great respite from the heat of Mysore! It was obviously too hot to eat at the tables on the lawn but that I’m sure they would be lovely in the evening.

The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed but the service was great and the food was just fabulous! I had the best vegetable curry of my whole trip and the South Indian coffee we had afterwards was the best too! The prices were very reasonable and I believe they are a non-profit making organisation as their profits are given to charity and they also employ local people, so more good reasons to go if the gorgeous food and beautiful setting are not reason enough!

“Wonderfull place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

Wonderfull place to wind down after a day full of noises and smells.
Sipping from a Gin Tonic and tasty food outside on the lawn.
And that for a more then reasonable price.
What more do you need...

“Colonial India”

Brillant ambience. We had chats on the lawn around dusk. Food was great and good value. Try the masala peanuts, really hot and spicy but worth it.

“Beautiful & historic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

The historic building and garden terraces are lovely and is a wonderful place to have a meal. We stopped by the Green Hotel in Mysore during a road trip and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast there - coffee with fresh milk, fresh half boiled eggs with toast, all of which were delicious and hearty. The lemon drizzle cake was simply magnificent. The staff were friendly, attentive and had great pride of the place, pointing out decorative objects and pictures and telling us stories behind each interesting piece. Definitely worth a visit!

Food is good and worth for the location. Good only for couples. Some food are slightly over prices, but thats to limit the cheaper crowd.
