This restaurant is more known as GTR.
I have been visiting Mysore for so many years, but never had tried this joint, but had heard a lot about this eatery from lots of friends in Mysore.
This time i decided to venture out this place along with my friend had spoken very high about this place.
I had always heard this to be a very old Restaurant, but to my surprise a new floor with Hi Fi A/c has been opened in the first floor known as GTR Delite, when we ordered their famous Masala Dosa, there was nothing great to talk about this famous dish, as the Dosa was literally dipped in either oil / ghee, but not worth the info i had heard about this place. I was more surprised as they had started serving Chinese delicacies and Chats. This is what happens to those restaurants where they want to keep pace with the new restaurants and this loosing loosing their originality. I did taste few other items like the Goli Bajji which were too good and the coffee was descent enough.
A request to the owner of the hotel, "Kindly keep the originality of the place, this is why people would like to visit these kind of places for their famous dishes.

This place offers tasty Masala Dose, a delicacy of Mysore, as well a other vegetarian dishes. It is a low budget hotel frequented by Mysoreans and offers at excellant price. The place does not look cosy but the tiffin and breakfast served is worth a visit by the tourist.

GTR is one of the oldest restaurants of Mysore. It is open only at morning from 7-11 and evening 4 - 8 . Masala Dosa and Upma are really tasty here .All the food items are worth the price. A must visit place in Mysore if you are a vegetarian. Basically its a small restaurant with self service and family service room .

Simple but tasty & quick breakfast.. Masala Dosa, Plain Idli, Kesari Bath are a must try. It is an old charm "small" restaurant in the Not-so-popular side of Mysore. It is worth a visit if and should be in the proximity of the climb to Chamundi. If you have ladies/children there is a family seating area..
