Don't miss this monster-of-a-palace if you're in Mysore. It's huge. You'll need about an hour, an hour and a half to see it at your leisure. Take as many pictures as you want from the outside because you can't use your camera in the palace. You can keep your camera bag with you but can't take pictures or film. Some locals tried to snap a few shots with a telephone but they were caught. Oh, nothing terrible, a few whistle blows and a warning, nothing more. You also have to leave your shoes at the palace's entrance (not in the park, fortunately). When you finish your visit, walk toward the toilets, continue and explore the backside courts. You'll find a couple of camels. Go on and explore the large gardens following the exterior walls. In the North-eastern corner, you'll find the elephants' quarters (4 elephants). Enjoy.

Beautiful palace, but not maintained properly. Still a good visit. The audio instruction would have been good but it stop working after 5 min of use.

This palace is awesome, its like the Versailles of India the place grounds of beautiful and well kept. The tour is a bit pricy but its a inside look into what it must have been to be a king of India back in the day. The architecture of the building and inside is quite stunning definitely worth a visit if you are in Mysore.

The grounds are vast and well maintained. The sheer size of the palace is amazing!! The whole building is fully lined with bulbs so that it lights up at night and looks great in photos and on all the sightseeing papers. That said, inside the palace, it ghosts of a bygone era and a grandeur long past is evident. Still each room is an amazing work of art. I could easily imagine the royal raja and rani dancing through the halls with their entourage in tow. I hope with continued tourism (while keeping in mind the careful caring for this historic landmark) and more funds, this majestic palace will reign once again over the hearts of all Mysore and its visitors.
