“Maintained very well”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

Its about 160 kms from Bangalore and the drive takes about 3 hrs. The palace is maintained very well. Photography is prohibited inside the palace and if you are carrying the camera you got deposit there and collect it back after your visit. Even the foot wear is also not allowed inside. The whole palace is illuminated and decorated during the Dussera holidays

“Simply amaging....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

The Palace is really very nice. you will be amaged to see the beauty of this palace. it is very big you need at least 3-4 hrs to see it properly. photography is banned and heavily fined if caught. the plave where king used to enjoy dance was very nice. one section made of glass was also very good. many nice sculptures, deities, crowns so many things.

Unforgettable! I was totally mesmerized by the the palace at night!! This would be the only reason for me to come back in future as Mysore the city itself is very noisy & dirty.

“Pride of Karnataka”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

So proud to have such a magnificent Palace in our very own Karnataka.

The lights on Sunday night is glorious, mesmerizing and awesome.Make sure you reach there few minutes before light is on in evening, when all lights are turned on at same time the feeling is hypnotizing as though a beautiful palace appeared in front of you out of the blue.

If you have to visit the inside of the palace, morning is the best time. You need at least 4 hours to see in detail. Make sure you take the audio set at the entrance surrendering any of your ID proofs, also check if handsets are working as most of time they are not.

Unfortunately if management can cater to handling the ticket counter, handling of audio sets well, may be we can attract more people.

The paintings inside the temple are too good to miss and palace artifacts and structure are too beautiful.

This is a must see if you visit to Karnataka

“Amazing place to see Historical painting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

Well kept palace which actually looks and feels like palace. We used the recorded audio guide for four of us. It gave very detailed information about the key spots in palace. Paintings about the kings procession are just fabulous....
