Located heart of the Mrysore city center, this grand royal building decorated with more than 100,000 bulbs light…. Every weekend, national holiday’s and through the Dasara celebration all the light will on… it’s fantastic view.

I loved the palace- the art and architecture. The usual touts around selling stuff. The "free" shoe lockers want tips before AND after leaving your shoes. The security wants "commission" for taking photos. Then you are told to delete them. So pay them well. Then the "collectors of foreign currency" will ask you where you are from, and could they just see what your currency looks like. You know the drill... Personally I like to ask (in a loud voice) How much baksheesh would you like? Love India. Like most of the people. Hate the corruption.

Palace is huge and very nice especially in the evenings when it is lit. The lighting is only on the weekends and on some important festival days.
To visit the palace and see inside it has to be during the daytime. Check the timings before you visit.
Also see the Ganesha temple and other temples near the entrance and also many temples in the palace complex.
Also see the Golden Throne, if it is on display, i think it is only during Dasara festival time.
Also see and enjoy paintings.

Stunning architecture and a most interesting tour of the interior. Do not miss visiting the grounds at night when it is illuminated.
