Dancing musical fountain is the best! Though I've been to Mysore before and visited the Brindavan Garden then, this fountain still does not fail to impress and hold your attention!!! Its just SUPERB!

The magnificient dam of Krishna Raja Sagara and the terraced gardens both of which has been beautifully planned and built by the Greatest Enginner of Indian Era Sir M Vishveshwariah is really a engineering marvel and also a treat for nature lovers. The Gardens are one of the Best in India and World with the splendid dam in the back drop and well cultured lawn and flowering plans with symmertrical planning of spanning water bodies in form of fountains are a treat to watch in Day and Evening. Do not miss the musical fountains on weekends from 7 - 9 which is equally beautiful.

First visited 1978. Was very popular including Bollywood. Last visited 2012. A bit scruffy then with gardens apparently getting lesser attention by the maintenance team. Some areas such as the walltop viewing of the lake, etc have been sealed to public entry. Evening at the gardens is still quite wholesome and memorable with the good fountains and lighting displays. A good place for a family picnic and worth a visit on way to Mysore.
Entry fee negligible. Clean environment with ample security.

The garden is 30 mins drive from Mysore city. The roads are good. The entrance fees are very nominal. The Garden is maintained properly, i neat and have lots of water fountains. (please visit here in the evening for the amazing fountain show with lights). The entry is restricted to climb the Dam.
