Our family enjoyed going around this bazaar in the street. We bought hard carved wooden items amongst our small gifts. No hard selling, no wildly inflated offer prices. Many traders seem to be long established 30 years or so. They seem to offer a reasonable price to start rather than suggesting starting prices 3 or 4 times what the trader would eventually settle for ( if he had to if you bothered to haggle enough). On our tour of north India ... Delhi, Varanesi, Agra , Jaipur and Shimla we found Shimla the most reasonable of the tourist spots for tourist gifts. No walking street traders offering postcards, beads and tourist tat.
