“Shimla Haven- An Excellent Destination”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

Shimla Havens is an excellent destination to stop in; where I visited with my family six months ago. It was newly built- just 3 months old resort when we visited, it was really an awesome experience here. Rather than spending time in other nearby places, we spent much time in the rooms of this restaurant. We enjoyed with each and every material that management provided us.

The architecture of the hotel was extraordinary- Firstly, when we entered the hotel, we were excited seeing the reception hall- It was so decent to look at, very nice ceiling and the shining floors as well. Then, we checked the dining room which they called it as Restaurant dining cedar; oh my God! it was awesome. They served us so kindly all the days and nights we stayed at this restaurant.

We stayed at one of the large rooms; felt bit costly, but it was worth paying. Everything was upto the mark- they maintained cleanliness, the decoration, their well-maintenance of the rooms, everything was superb.

Our children enjoyed more in the bathrooms. They were so beautifully made out of glass; it looks very good to take bath here. My children used to dance in the bathrooms playing music in ipods.

Even, the bed room they provided was nice- beds were so soft, and the decent colors or designs of the pillow, suits the bed and had good sleep. Usually, when sleeping place changes, it is difficult to get sleep at another place, but we had a very nice sleep with the glass window kept open; we had comfortable sleep without any disturbance, as the room given to us was calm and quite.

When we woke up in the morning, my hubby was working-out in the gymnasium that was provided by the hotel management. After my hubby returning back to the rooms, we all rested in the room garden; i.e., private garden for individual room. It was very nice for new couples to reside in; it is a fantastic place for honeymoon. We all enjoyed playing games in the garden, had lots of fun. Our kids enjoyed indoor and outdoor activities of the hotel as well.

The staffs were so polite and good that, they had respect to all their customers. They served us happily, smiling always and very helpful especially for new visitors. I’m really impressed by its hospitality.

There was thick Deodar forest which was found behind the resort; it was so wonderful to look at the forest from upstairs of our room. We asked nature guide to take us, they took us there without questioning us. Throughout our short trip to the Deodar forest, we heard the sweet voice of the birds that cannot be found in the cities much. They also held adventurous activities, where we all had fun to maximum extent. Firstly, I hesitated to participate in the activities and allowed my children and hubby to participate on behalf of me. But, the trainer of those adventurous activities forced me to join them. Overall, it is a marvellous and embarrassing experience, where I would like to visit again.

Amongst all the summer retreats in India Shimla has become the most crowded especially if you choose to stay in old Shimla. However stay in Shimla Havens was by far one of the best as it is situated away from the hustle-bustle of the city- around 7KMs before main Shimla and provides good service. Its a newly built hotel, beautifully furnished, pristine surroundings and serves really good food. But a word of caution for those who prefer to travel by road : the approach road is very poor and too steep to negotiate turns. If your car is of less then 1100CC then climbing will be an uphill task. For those who travel by Toy train Shimla Havens is really the best property to choose - get down at Summer hill station and ask hotel guys to provide pick and drop facility, hardly two minutes drive from there.

Room Tip: Take Toy train to Shimla and deboard at summer hill station.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thanks for taking time to share your experience with travel community on TripAdvisor regarding your recent visit to Shimla Havens. We are pleased to hear that your stay at Shimla Havens was pleasant and you enjoyed food, services, room decor, hospitality at Shimla havens.

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed being closer to nature and hearing the birds chirping in the morning, getting up in the morning and seeing thick deodar forest and open valley from your Bay window.

Regarding your concern the approach to the resort let me share the fact with the travel community through you that we always wanted to create a product which provides our Guest with the Peace, Pleasure and Adventure, a place where a guest could relax away from the maddling crowd and concrete jungle. we wanted to give an experience to the traveler that whenever he get up in the morning rather than hearing the noise of cars and inhaling the polluted air of the congested city we wanted that he should start his day listening to the chirping of Birds, he should open the window and inhale the fresh oxygen, he can get up in the morning and enjoy the nature walk in the thick dense forest.

You will agree to me that finding all these assets was not possible on highways and in city centre hence we chose the countryside. I would agree that driving downhill for a person who is not acclimatized for the hill drive is bit difficult but resort has facility of chauffeur who can assist you in case you find driving downhill difficult. Resort has facilities of providing the transfers to and from the railway station/bus station and complimentary drop to the Mall roads as well through our own vehicle.

We would love to see you again at Shimla Havens ....

With warm Regards,

shimla was a bit hotter as compared to manali as we have opted to go for shimla after manali but it was a nice idea overall . The property should be completed in all terms very soon as it is having a great potential and still is the best option to stay in shimla because it is isolated from the main city and having a great view . The forest beside the resort is having some nice activities also and can be taken as a adventure walking trail . but that way shouls be developed by the resort for safety terms . The resort lags an absence of air conditioner as it gets hot and the ground floor garden touch rooms are miserable as windows can't be open . The play area for kids also need fast developement of lawn . another area of improvement is the quality of food and waiters , the top management officials are very friendly and co operative (overall the experience was satisfactory and we enjoyed our vacation there)

Room Tip: upper two floors if ac provided and after lift installation or in winters i feel ground floor will b...

Dear Mr. Goyal,

Thanks for sharing your experience about your recent visit to Shimla and stay at Shimla Havens Resort on Tripadvisor. I am pleased to hear that your stay at Shimla Havens Resort was pleasant .

We are pleased to hear that apart from appreciating the services at Shimla Havens you have given your valuable inputs on the improvements and other aspects of the hospitality which can make the place better, the same has been taken into the consideration and forwarded to the respective departments for follow up. It is always very inspiring to know how the people like you share your valuable experience and helps the hospitality providers like us to add on the features what travelers are looking for, Thanks a lot for your valuable time although I would like to share few facts through you to the travel community about the services standards.

Since we are new establishment and only 9 month old our lawns are not lush greens in three months time after monsoon you can find that the entire area would be lush greens which looked underdeveloped to you.

Regarding the adventure activities I am pleased to share the fact that we have trained Mountaineering & Adventure instructors who looks after the soft adventure activities, Nature walks and other outdoor activities at the resort and let me assure you that all the safety standards of the highest standards are followed at our premises to make the experience of the guest exciting and pleasurable.

Regarding the garden rooms ventilation is concerned we have a door which opens into the personalized garden towards valley side enabling the rooms for fresh air.

Regarding the air conditioned in the hotels, I must update you that no property upto the standards of four star has air conditioned rooms in the hill station except one or two five star properties, but we provide the Fans as it is required for very limited time , after sunset the temperature becomes pleasant and the same is not required.

We look forward to welcome you again at Shimla Havens whenever your plans brings you back to Shimla.

Regards,

We had zero expectations when we went to Shimla haven in May 2013. It was slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We were pleasantly surprised . The rooms were large (for the money paid) and the amenities are all new. The room had excellent views from the backyard (especially the ones on the basement floor) of the green hills. The staff were really helpful here and the service was good. I stayed with friends and family for 3 days and I have no hesitation in choosing this place if I visit again. I have stayed in different places through out India in the 2.5 K - 4 K INR per day budget and this place definitely ranks among the best.

Room Tip: If possible choose a room in the basement. These rooms open in to a backyard which give you amazing...

Shimla havens is located away from the Shimla town, so calm and away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The rooms are exquisite with beautiful view of the green hills. We 5 women stayed overnight and ventured out for a lovely morning walk to get back for a very tasty breakfast served by friendly staff.

Room Tip: Rooms with morning view from the window.
