The temple is near to mall road and dedicated to Goddess kali who is also named as Shyamala, and the city got its name after the goddess as Shimla. The temple is an important worshiped place in the city and also very important tourist place. The temple was built in 1845. Highly recommended place to visit.

A very nice & well maintained temple of the Goddess Kali. It's very close to Mall Road & is very easily accessible, once you get there you're greeted by a nice & serene temple - the main temple of Goddess Kali & a smaller temple of Lord Shiva - and a great view of Shimla town, and of course the quintessential Shimla monkeys. It's easy to just sit in the temple for a couple of hours and just watch the view.
