Cecil is all about ambiance & old world charm.
The creaking wooden floors/staircase, victorian style furniture, huge window panes and high ceilings takes you back in 1st half of last century.
Food quality is very good. The bread rolls served on table were warm & freshly baked. We had ordered Trout Tawa Fry, Mutton Rogan josh along with some naan & rice. We were not very hungry so we opted for small quantities. The trout was fresh & mildly spiced, indeed very tasty....may be 2nd best after Hotel Pahalgam. The waiter was prompt & got us some nice makhni dal & vegetable complementary.
The service in the hotel is top notch. One should visit for experience. The only funny thing was that when we entered they asked if we had reservation, when answered no, they asked us to wait for checking availability. I found that surprising as the whole restaurant had only 2 tables occupied at 2.30 pm and still they wanted to check on 'availability'.
