Best place to stay in Fagu....we reached there late night on a day when roads were opened almost ten days of snow fall. So the hotel was very low on dry ration and drinking water as everything around was frozen. But still the staff went out of the accommodate us and served us some piping hot chapatis, potato peas curry and lentil soup. They arranged a bucked of water for us in the bathroom when water everywhere else was frozen. Morning we woke up to witness the most amazing snowfall. Everything around was white and looked pristine. Rooms are comfortable with heaters.best place to check in at Fagu

Didn't stay at the hotel but had a good 2 hrs halt at the hotel enroute to Kinnaur n had some good snacks there ... which included pakodas tea n omelette .... which were fairly decent stuff.
Y would like to recommend this hotel is the peace n solitude it gives you while being surrounded by hills n greenery ... a full 360degrees ... which is abt an hour or more from shimla n an hour before narkanda which makes it ideally located for both d places ... n giving d mad rush of both the touristy places a good skip!
The property has been recently renovated with addition of a good no of rooms n looked certainly well maintained ... and d prices too being economical ... wanna certainly go back there n spend some real quiet time.
From d outside it seems that almost every room has a real food view of the valley below n the mornings n evenings will b a real delight to sit in thw huge open area ... which sadly used to a beautiful lawn many years back.
Not to b missed place !

Stayed in this HPTDC property in June 2012. What a wonderful property, its a true gem. The best part of this hotel is its location and spacious rooms. Food also is good and cheap.
Hotel has a great open central area where you can sit out in the sun and watch the fab views of the hills. They also serve food in this area upon request.
Rooms are basic & neat & clean. Considering its an HPTDC property you should not look out for modern gadgets or other papmering stuff however the rooms offer a pleasant stay and great views from the window.
I had the Super Deluxe room which had great views of the adjoining hills. The hotel does not have a Bar but there is a liquor shop very close to the hotel, you can bring in booze from their.
There is nothing much to do in Fagu except relax and maybe go for few walks around. Fagu offers great relaxation and peace something you can never expect in Shimla.
Note: At the entry gate of hotel there is a small "Tea Shop" run by a local villager. Try the masala tea there.. Its very good.

Room Tip: Go for rooms on higher floors as they offer better views.

Its located in the small town of Fagu, very close to Kufri. Overall the place is nice, reasonably priced and the service is courteous. The rooms are basic, washrooms clean and food was reasonable in taste and price too.

Only thing I did not like was the architecture of the place. In the name of renovation, they have made a concrete place in a beautiful landscape. They have even paved, what used to be a beautiful grass lawn!

Dont expect anything great, and you will come back happy :)

I love this hotel for the location and good views. We had stayed in this hotel for one night. The room was average (Double Bed Room Regular), bathroom was clean. The food quality was average. The staffs were cooperative. Car parking spaces were available.

To Start with, We Booked this hotel through online website of HPTDC, where we found the rooms most economical from rest of the online travel portals, when we reached the hotel it was same as it was shown in the pictures i.e. picturesque.. my expectation were little low as it is owned and maintained by the Himachal Government but as soon as i reached there it was beautifully built with awesome views of the Himalayan snow Capped Hills.. Check-in was Easy, Rooms were clean and big enough with the heater, food was ok-ok not that great whereas Veg food was Economical and Non vegetarian was little expensive if you compare, services of the hotel was excellent n ya try to order your dinner before 10 PM as kitchen get close at the same.

Overall Experience was awesome and satisfactory... Ishan
