“Not upto expectations :(”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

It is referred to as one of the best Non-Veg restaurants in India but i think it over-rated
I live in Delhi and hav been there a couple of times but the taste is not so great
Last time I had Chicken Jahangiri and Biryani...
The chicken tasted a bit sour (probably due to tomatoes) and there was just one piece for Rs.130.
I also had Kheer as a dessert but it seemed tasteless..!
Just worth one visit.

“mouth watering delicacies (Non-Veg)”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

The food specially (Non-Veg) is absolutely delicious, The bread specially Tandoori is too good. you have to bear with the ambience which is decent but there is short of elbow room and service too is ok.

Visit it only if you are looking for great food.

“A bit less than what it's cracked up to be”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

Sure, Karim's offers good Mughlai food. This huge joint, which is actually a cluster of smaller places around some kind of courtyard with a central kitchen, is justifiedly famous. Unfortunately, fame takes its toll. It's getting expensive for what it is, and staff gets more arrogant everytime I come herre. (Actually I decided that this would be the last.) The setting is ordinary, not at all a nice place to relax and enjoy dinner with friends.
Still, it's good food. In case it's your first time: Mughlai cuisine (that is: the cooking developed in the imperial Mughal courts) is heavy stuff. Thick sauces even according to indian standards, heavy tastes. If you don't like that, there's still the kebabs and the simple tandoori dishes.

As others will tell you, Karim's is only easy to find if you know it. The trick is: when you're standing with your back to Jama Masjid, seeing Meena Bazar right at your feet, take the relatively broad road (Matia Mahal) that starts at your right hand side. Keep at the left side of the street and check for any tiny alley that goes to the left. About 50-100 meters into the street is the alley leading to Karim's. Alternativvely: when you're at Jama Masjid, just ask. Everybody knows Karim's.

“Classic--good food, basic ambiance, and part of the neighborhood!”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

Great for meat lovers who enjoy classic kebabs in Old Delhi. I've taken many friends and visitors here--- great stop when in the neighborhood! Quality food-- and local/basic ambiance that's part of the area.
