“Authentic but overpriced”
Reviewed October 20, 2013 via mobile

It used to be my favourite place for appams and stew, chettinad chicken and surprisingly the jaljeera.

It still has great food, just a lot more expensive... and the options for this kind of fare have increased many folds.

“South Indian Non-vegetarian Delight”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

If one wants to have good South Indian Nonvegetarian food, this is one of the restaraunts to be considered. It is located in defence Colony, heart of Delhi. Service is Superb. Happy hours r there for drinks. One gets Boiled masala chana as complimentary with drinks and this is quiet good. Different varieties of nonvegetarian items are there. Live Crabs are there and one can choose as per their choce. Chettinadu, Andhra & Mangalore varieties are there apprt from North Indian. One can taste Appam (keral delicay) and Chicken or Mutton. Hyderabadi Biryani is Ok but u don't get authentic hyderabadi biryani. Its Fish and Prawns curries are really good.
I have seen few foreigners among the guests particualrly Koreans & Europeans.
Overall it provides value for money as u get decent food for about 20$ per person without drinks

“Strange!!!”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

LOcated in the swanky Defence Colony market, this one gets lot of expats customers and is well known for the non vegetarian south indian food.

The food did not live upto the expectation. My assumption is with time they have customised the cusine to cater more to the foreign guests and the taste is not something if you are familiar with chettinad or other south indian cusine.

Service is fast and portion is huge....so make sure you ask the waiter if half plate is okay or not. Price depending upon the dish can vary from expensive to medium expensive.

But what surprised me....probably the most strange thing I have experienced in a restaurant is that...THESE GUYS CHARGE FOR NORMAL GLASS OF WATER!!! actually 3rs for a glass is nothing big but which restaurant in India charge for normal water...have never heard of it...

“Very good south indian non veg food”
Reviewed September 28, 2013 via mobile

Quite an expensive restaurant but the food is good especially the fried rawas or surmai. Prawns are juicy and cooked to perfection. Appams are good.
But for the portions it seems expensive.
