“New Delhi's Best-Kept Secret”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2012

During the last leg of our trip, my wife and I stayed at Eleven, New Delhi, a wonderful place in a quiet section of town (yes, there is such a thing!) run by a most amicable innkeeper named Ajay Anandd. Upon our arrival, we found the inn to be spacious, well-manicured, and – most importantly – clean! After traveling through the Indian areas of Delhi and in the southern Tamil Nadu, we were relieved to be provided with some of the Western comforts to which we were accustomed.

Immediately upon arrival, we were met with Ajay who showed us around the house and gave us a selection of two of the available rooms. He personally walked us through the entire room, explaining each amenity as we went. Before leaving us to it, he provided us with a cell phone by which we could reach him at any time if we needed assistance around the city. Upon our request, he provided the location of a nearby (walking distance) café where we had a lovely dinner.

While out, we decided to check out the mall and inquired if Ajay could assist. He did so and arranged a cab to pick us up. He gave us instructions regarding the best cab companies and where to find their stalls. However, when we were unable to locate the cabs, we used the cell phone to contact him again. He immediately arranged to have a cab to get us. As we entered the cab, Ajay actually contacted the cab company, had his call forwarded to the cab driver, and then insisted to use the cab driver’s phone to speak directly to us to ensure that we had entered the proper car!

The sounds of the traffic outside were minimal as the traffic of this part of town is lighter and the walled gating surrounding the property blocks much of the noise. The bed was most comfortable and the bathroom was large and pristine.

The following morning, the breakfast served to us was enormous and very tasty! We were given the option of Indian or Western styles, along with fruit of various types. We checked out at noon, but since our plane was not leaving until later in the evening, we planned to site-see during the day. Ajay allowed us to leave our packs at the inn until we returned. When we were ready to depart (hours after we checked out), Ajay arranged another cab for us to take us to the airport.

We decided that if we ever found our way back to Delhi, we would most definitely stay at Eleven again. It is more expensive than the cheap dives in town, but the value provided is far greater than the price of the room. We recommend this place to anyone who visits New Delhi.

Eleven Guest House is an oasis in the bustle of Delhi.
Clean, cosy and warm (in all senses) it was a joy to return home in the evening after a hot day sight-seeing.
Host Ajay is relaxed and obliging, and has a wealth of local knowledge which I found most useful. He didn't intrude, but was always there to answer queries or simply do whatever we needed.
Breakfasts were delightful, and Ajay even made us sandwiches and fruit to take out for lunch, or when we headed off on an evening train trip.
I would thoroughly recommend Eleven to anyone visiting Delhi, and I hope to return in the future.

We stayed at Eleven for a few nights at the beginning of Jan. Eleven is located on a quiet residential street within easy (rickshaw) access of the main tourist attractions. We had a really comfortable, spotlessly clean room and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
The main asset of Eleven, though, is Ajay, who couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. As others have said, he gave us a mobile to use in case we needed any help while we were out and about. He also helped us with directions to tourist attractions, told us what we should be paying for rickshaws, and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations.
I would definitely recommend Eleven as a great place to stay in Delhi

We stayed at Eleven for a week in late December/January and found Ajay a wonderful host. The guesthouse is very well situated in a nice area of Delhi near Humayan's Tomb. The rooms are clean and comfortable with very obliging staff - friendly and attentive. There was excellent and free wifi access and plenty of bottled water available. We appreciated the free cell phones that Ajay provided and he even gave us one while we were away on our tour of Rajastan. He went the extra mile to ensure that we had a wonderful time in Delhi and we would definitely recommend Eleven. We would love to go back!

India is a fascinating, but often difficult place to visit. I arrived at Bed & Breakfast at Eleven after almost 3 weeks of travelling throughout India and I was in dire need of some rest before my 20 hour flight back to the U.S. Ajay, the owner, made me feel so welcome in his home. I really did feel like I was staying in someone's home as their invited guest. My room was really comfortable, with a nice hot shower and breakfast made to order and Ajay even gave me a cell phone to use! He provides all guests with free bottled water and there was always hot tea and biscuits available in the common areas. There's also a desktop computer to use free of charge to check e-mail. Honestly, I felt very comfortable and safe there and the rooms are located near the back of the property and therefore away from India's constant street noise. I will stay at Eleven again should I go back to Delhi and will definitely recommend it to my friends!

My first trip to India and Ajay arranged for my transportation from the airport at night when I
arrived alone then returned at 2am to pick up my friend who arrived by a different airline.
Homy, quiet, clean lower rear room and sleep was welcome. Next to breakfast room where there is a computer for guests and code available for smart phones in room. All the coffee, tea and bottled water you need. Good food, indoor or outdoor eating areas. Dinner
available on request. Safe neighborhood for walking. Friendly and helpful staff. Good decision.

Room Tip: Quiet area. I had a lower rear room with twin beds.

My husband, sister, and niece all traveled together and spent about 3 nights at Eleven. The location was very good for our needs and the accommodations were just fine. The owner and his staff are what make this a very special place indeed! They were most gracious and willing to be of help with any questions we had. I would highly recommend this B&B to others traveling to New Delhi.
