“Cheap bite”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

it's been famous for it's shawarma...it's not the same what it used to be earlier. Had food some time back...well below expectation's. Pieces of chicken were small like you get on roadside dhabba. Thankfully tandoori was still gud as earlier visits's. It's now dropped 5 notched my places to eat list. Avoid if you can

“Grab a Shawarma sandwich Indian syle”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

For a quick shawarma sandwich with special Indian spicy sauce you should stop at this spot and have a Shawarma wrap. The flavor is not that similar to the Middle Eastern flavour of a true Shawarma .

“Shawarma- Roll with difference and taste”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Shawarma at Al Bake are having tasty roll to enjoy.
Other things can be manchurian and fried rice and other chinese food options.
Only thing is that you will not get easy place to sit and enjoy the tasty food.

“Good food at cheaper prices... Tryout is a must!”
Reviewed March 22, 2012

Been visiting Al Bake ever since it's inception at NFC Community Center, New Delhi in the late nineties. Was popularly known to us as Auntie's place. The place quickly caught the attention of the young crowd thronging the community center and became popular because of the levantine Arab meat preparation. As always, the "Indianized" version of the dish at "Auntie's Place" is full with garam masala and lots of chilli pepper and differs from the original preparation which provides succulent meaty bites in mild Arab spices. Might suit well to the Indian palate but for someone who's cherished the original version, it's totally out of the league.

Why have I been visiting then? Well, yeah, they have other preparations as well and the place holds memories of endless, care free evenings spent with friends. Food is cheap and really fast! From a small joint, Al Bake has graduated into a restaurant on the other side of the building serving mostly non-vegetarian food which is worth a visit every now and then. Can't mention any specific items from the menu but their grilled items are very good. Kebabs and tikkas are soft, juicy and tender.

Can be a tummy filling experience for anyone who's interested in having cheap and good quality non-vegetarian Indian food.

“Nice rolls. The rest is horrible”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

Al Bake's reputation has been built on it's Shwarma rolls. They are value for money and good to eat. However, the rest of the Tandoori stuff that they offer is crap.

They no longer have the tables outside where you could stand an eat. Now you need to sit inside the dingy establishment. They do have a modern place nearby where they offer curries that I haven't tried but my advise will be to stick to the rolls.
