Great experience, however very expensive and you can eat just as well for a quarter of the price.
The meat and the dahl was the best I had in India however.
We went the banquet and it was far too much food and was part of the reason the cost was so much.
The service was great, the waiters had a great sense of humor and were happy to chat.
It is authentic, but in a touristy type of way, hence why the place is full of tourists and business people.

If you like to see other tourists and pay dearly, this is the place for you. Can't really understand why magazines or travel sites would push it. Just isn't the kind of "authentic" experience that we enjoy when traveling. The lamb kebob was tasty but the rest of the meal was just okay and the drinks average as well. The only gold star experience was the price of the bill!

My husband and I dined here while staying at the ITC Maurya, and we could NOT stop eating until we were absolutely stuffed! He said that the lamb he had was the best he ate in India, and we both said the same for the naan and daal that was extremely rich and flavorful.

Two hours of pure pleasure, really...OK, lets take it from the top, we started with a tour through the mini kitchen where all the food is cooked on charcoal, smelling amazing, the meat well marinated, the bread well knead and the black dahl out of this world. The chef takes this all in stride, in the evening there is a line of people waiting to get into the place as the restaurant doesn't take reservations...it's that good.
Enough gushing, we sat at the table where Bill Clinton sat when he visited India with his daughter Chelsea, a little uncomfortable for tall people but the food that was put on the table is making up for this discomfort in spades. Where to begin to recommend, try the rack of lamb though, and the chicken pieces from the tandoori oven or the lamb minced meat skewer. Don't be afraid to try it all, this is one place where you won't get a Delhi belly for sure!
