It was opened in late 70s and only one air conditioned and underground market in Central Delhi. So many visitors from all walks of life were regular customers of this high ended market in older days. Now it has been completely changed and converted into local bazaar. Sorry to say it lost their glory.

To get bargained products go ahead. Otherwise hunters around you. It could annoy some time later as you go around there.

Palika Bazaar is an underground market situated in Connaught Place, Delhi. Upon arrival at the bazaar, I was confronted by a man who tried to encourage me to give this center a miss but, instead, to proceed to 'government controlled' shops across the street. I did not pay any attention to him. Once in the underground premises, I noticed a surfeit of tourists mingling with the locals.

Scores of shops ply their trade in electronics and clothing. The buyer needs to be cautious of stolen and counterfeit goods and unlicensed CDs and videos.

A few rules to follow here are, never pay the asking price, examine the goods carefully and don't be pressurised into buying something you don't want. Be firm and assertive and it is best not to engage in idle talk because that could result in purchase of an unwanted item.

Happy haggling.

This place feels like a market crossed with a nightclub but amongst the hip young Indian guys and their hairstyles you may find The Globe Book Depot (shop 130). What an amazing place! The gentlemen running the place specialises in military books. And he's very helpful and authorative. Worth the effort. FYI - many of the other young store holders are very helpful with directions.

This Market is closed on Sunday. And on regular days also has operational hours, mind the time of visit. This is an underground air-conditioned market located below the inner circle of Connaught near Central Park. This massive market of Palika bazar has hundreds of shops especially famous for cheap electronic goods , clothes , perfumes , accessories to be rigorously bargained for every single stuff that you intend to buy.
But in personal opinion you will get better quality stuff in other markets in Delhi. The quality is absolutely poor for everything. Hence just a visit to put a tick on the visited list this place is ok.
