Owner description: Fantastic site to visit - unimaginable architechture, great theme show, diaorama and I max presentation. If any tourist, irresepctive of his religion or creed, has half a day to spare, this is a must see. It is one man's creation in five years totally with voluntary support. A monument which makes every indian proud!

Akshardham Temple is accessible by Metro train from Karol Bagh metro station. Temple has a very beautiful architecture and offers a very nice view in the evening when lights are on. Just outside the temple, one can deposit the luggage, camera or cellphone etc to keep in locker as nothing is allowed inside. The storage facility is safe. Inside the temple, one can enjoy boat ride to ancient history and culture of India, the documentary film on life of Lord swaminarayan and musical fountain for a ticket price of 170. These are a must do in the temple. There is food court where plenty of dishes are served. Food quality is good. Make sure to have at least four hours to spend with leisure after entering the temple.

Amazing sculptures & carvings. Beautiful gardens. The Water & Light Show is amazing. Good food available to eat. The only drawback is you cant take any items inside & needs to keep in the locker room. Mobile & cameras are also not allowed inside. So, no photography inside, but you can take a photo through a professional inside for a price of Rs. 130/-. The other drawback is the time taken to put the items in the locker room & then the time for getting the security check done. Please keep a check on all the family members bcoz once inside there is no way to communicate & difficult to search for them.

We stayed in Delhi for few hours as it was our stop to board our train for Madhaya Pradesh Tour ,so we decided to spend our time visiting the Akshardham. It was amazing lifetime experience cannot explain in words. One must definitely visit to explore the beauty.

Probably the most amazing place I visited in Delhi. It is new (built in 2005) but the complex and the workmanship of the temple are simply astounding. Be forewarned, you can't take ANYTHING inside (bag, camera, phone) etc so either leave it in the car or check it in. It is so unfortunate since everywhere you look, you will want to take pictures but alas.... You can take a very small handheld purse with money. You will have to take off shoes when you go inside the temple so bring a pair of socks (at least I did). I would recommend going in the late afternoon so that you can see it during the daylight hours and lit up at night. The fountain show in th evening is worthwhile as is the boat ride. There is a place where they take a picture for 130 rupees for an 8x10 picture. Since you can't take any pictures it is your only option to document you visit. Overall, a wonderful place to visit.
