Description: After setting up in Mumbai and Bengaluru, the Michelin-starred restaurant from London, Yauatcha established its presence in the capital city of New Delhi on 11th November 2013. With modern authenticity being at the root of Yauatccha's cuisine and service, its chefs have taken recipes from all over China and have infused them with a modern sensibility. The result is authentic Cantonese cooking with a contemporary flair - at once subtle and thrilling - and all made with the best ingredients. Yauatcha is located at 2nd Level, Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi seating a capacity of 147 guests.

“Excellent food”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

Tried out Yauatcha this weekend and really liked the food. We tried their michelin star winner dimsums and they were awesome. Food overall was good and loved the Dessert. The quality is much better than many 5 star restaurants and hotels we see here.
Service however was really slow and food took too long to reach us. We had to repeatedly follow up as we had couple of hungry kids with us and they were getting very impatient with the delay. We also had a small baby in a pram and everytime the server would try reaching over the baby to serve and we had to ask him not to - that was really annoying.
So basically, the chef is far superior than the service - wish they correct that soon.
Recommended and hope they do something about the inexperienced service.

“Michelin Star (London Resto only) now in Delhi”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

I visited this resto for 2 reasons - 1) Because it carries the prestige of Michelin Star Rating of its London resto 2.) Because of its Ads that cover almost all of ambiance mall inviting for a INR990 (?) set menu for non-vegetarians.

Entering the resto looks very chic. However, despite of 3 staff at the entrance/receiving area, nobody greeted a solo prospect diner...that's me. I needed to ask them...(not a good welcome). I was escorted in.

Expecting for the set menu advertised (INR990?), i was informed that it's just from Mon-Sat so i decided for an elaborate Sunday "lunch"(i forgot how they call it) for INR2000+ taxes...In this option you will be allowed to pick your choice(s) in their "grouped" menu...type(s) of dimsum, mains, rice, etc. below were my choices...and it's comments:

1) Chicken shuimai (2 pcs)--clear wrap, good and melts on mouth >>GOOD

2.)Chicken char shi bun (2pcs) - warm and size is good. tends towards the sweet side >> AVE

3.)Chive dumpling (2pcs)-- i dont remember the taste...means...>>> BELOW AVE

4.) Sesame prawn toast (2 pcs)--- i love the presentation with chicken puff--prawn coated with an overload of sesame seeds and fried--->>> EXCELLENT

5.) baked Chicken puff (2 pcs)- good but the bread base pulls the rating down.--->>> ABOVE AVE

6.) Chicken shanghai Dumpling (2 pcs) - tastes good--->>> AVE

7.) Char Sui chicken cheung fun-- i didnt finish--->>>> BELOW AVE

8.) Mixed salad with lotus root----i love this..nice mix of sweet, sour,, etc....order this---->>> EXCELLENT

9.) Four style Veg in Szechuan sauce-- i clearly asked if this dish is spicy...the staff said no...but it was spicy... this is a mix of different veg, i.e. asparagus, etc. ---->>>>>BELOW AVE TO POOR

10) Dessert- 3 types - Choco Hazelnut, ( i dont know the name) but it's a chocolate with nice presentation maybe a mousse... and a macaroons in strawberry filling( i loved this)

11.) softdrink

12.) unlimited hot jasmine green tea---normal

I dont like the way servers serve as they dont introduce the food, it's name and what it contains.
I have to ask for the menu so that i can figure out the food that is being served. I did not expect this way of service. Diners must be introduced to the food as it gives more value to it and one can appreciate more.

The atmosphere inside is good and looks minimalist The chairs, and tables match. The bar and wine selection appears to be great. With selections from around the corners of the world.- Sake, beers, wine, etc..

I could not leave the resto with out checking the toilet...It's clean and modern. I would prefer if they put a life size mirror...the scent of lemongrass is refreshing inside the toilet.

Staff could wear a bit of smile and some welcoming gestures. One supervisor( maybe) came to check how was the food and left in less than 5 seconds. How could he know things in less than 5??

The one in-charge of my table appears good. However, i was disappointed as he took the chair in front of me (although i dine solo) with out even asking or saying that he is taking it...He could have done it in a polite manner.

Over-all, the place is chic, music is a bit loud, toilet is clean, food is above average but something that i may forget after a day or 2. Price to quality ratio seems to be in the higher side at INR2584 for 1 person.

I've visited 2-3 star Michelin Restos in diff parts of the world. i havent been to Yauachua London Resto (with Michelin star) but this one in Delhi is wayyyy to far to get one in anytime soon in 1 to 3 years....but it is worth a visit. You would not be ashamed to recommend this to ave to high profile diners...

PS: a staff came to me while i was dining and asked me if i am a restaurateur or in the hospitality biz...hahahah. perhaps because i was writing/taking down notes...

“There is Oriental and their is Yauatcha”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

Delhi is finally getting slew of world class restaurants and Yautacha, an oriental eateries is one of them. Located on the second floor of Ambience Mall in YasantKunj is the latest addition to the free standing restaurants.

Decor is minimilist and expensive. One has to see it to appreciate it.

Food, An amazing menu of chinese and other oriental dishes served as dim sum and also in al a carte style. Taste never before explored and tried in India. The ingredients fresh as just sourced from ocean or land. Immaculate sauces compliments those fresh ingredients. An extensive menu, which most of it I am sure is excellent, is worth several visits. An regular hot and sour soup, was playing a very different tune form what I had before any where else. Cannot describe the taste this soup left in our mouth.
Most of the dim sum we tried were of top notch quality. Steaming hot and full of flavor bursting in your mouth. We ordered slew of main entree's and they were as good as promised. Crispy fried grouper in sweet and sour sauce and Kung po chicken were outstanding and our favorite.

Desserts were another thing altogether. They surpassed in finesse and styling from the food menu. My favorite Blood Orange Cake. Amazing architectural piece of baking with chocolate and blood orange sorbet. Great place to visit for desserts it self.

Only complaint, in this amazing oriental heaven, is service. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, they tend to loose some concentration, when it gets busy, which it does for sure.

Since the place gets busy, reservation is recommended. If you land up without reservation, bar lounge is good place to wait, as it carries an amazing collection of liquors and they make great cocktails, along with it being a pretty place to wait.

“Food is great, portions need to be bigger”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

Very authentic tasting oriental cuisine.. we had crab, prawns etc all done to perfection. However,if you are hungry be ready to order double as the portions are really small. The day we went half the cocktails in the menu were not available. Otherwise good experience, though overpriced given the size of the portions..

“Fairly good food but overpriced”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

Some of the dishes were excellent: lamb roll with black bean as use, fried chilly squid with oatmeal, crispy prawn cheungfun. All the other dishes were fairly good but nothing outstanding. The portions were small, and so , overpriced. All the Alcoholic beverages were grossly overpriced for a restaurant of this level. The plating and presentation of the deserts was outstanding. Overall a pleasurable though expensive meal.
