Delhi Golf club is a legacy of Lutyens Delhi. Surrounded by the Lodhi gardens, the Zoo and a few minutes from the India Gate, this is indeed the heart of Delhi. And yet you watch peacocks and other fauna as you manage the fairways and the trees cover. The rich and famous, and the hoity toity mingle with the gamers and the gourmands to enjoy the tandoori delights, the biryanis and the delectable deserts. DGC is a morning well spent, or a lazy winter afternoon of leisure, or a great evening...the choice entirely yours to make!!!

“Challenging course in the heart of the city”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

I feel that I am playing in a moghul era with all the various monument, tombs and ofcourse the peacocks. Some of the tombs are unknown, so it makes you even more inquisitive.

The course is challenging especially some of the holes as the forest is thick. The greens are reasonable, but having local knowledge or a good caddies help will be beneficial. I agree that booking for non-members is bit of hassle and the whole process of registering is very bureaucratic.

The food, liquor and snacks are very reasonably priced. The ambience of sitting against the 18th green is a great feeling.

Also like that the range is open till 8 in the evening. However, you can only hit off the mats, which is kind of let down for a course of this historic proportions. The chip and pitch areas are ok. But no complaints as you will not find such a great value golf facility in the heart of any city in the world.

“Possibly one of the most historically rich golf club”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Delhi Golf Club seems rather small compared to the modern golf courses of the world designed by PGA golfers and several of the fairways are rather narrow and unforgiving. What makes this club stand out the most is that fact that is is home to several erstwhile monuments and ruins dating back more than 400 years. The popular Delhi road - Barakhamba (12-pole) Road derives its name from a 12-pillared ruins of a hall bang in the middle of the course. Peacocks can often be seen prancing while teeing off. Oberoi hotel overlooks the greens and the tony Golf Links neighborhood is right next door. Khan Market - one of Delhi's most popular shopping destinations for expats is less than a five minute drive away. Non-members can also pay cash and play and later enjoy food and drinks in the British-era clubhouse.

“Paradise for Golfers in the heart of Delhi”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Though getting a booking (for non members) may sometimes be a challenge in the winter months, a walk in addition is possible. The course is challenging and is literally located in the heart of Delhi. With peacocks and old Mughal monuments littered liberally around, I feel that this is one of the most scenic golf courses in the world (and, statistically, one of the busiest as well).

“Its my 2nd home”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

Being a golfer and also a member of this club- atleast 2 visits a week are mandatory. You cannot get cheaper liquor; and food is nice. They have one main bar, a dining hall , a pub serving food as well and an annexe for the snacks for golfers. The pub has outside as well as inside sitting. When weather is good - its a pleasure sitting outside the pub with a view of golf course.
