once reached, take a break from the chaos outside and sit and listen to the shabads (hymns). if u are non Sikh its recommended that you should Explore the Gurdwara and go for the langar (Free kitchen). This place has lot of history and significance to Sikhism.

One of the most revered holy shrines of Delhi (old Delhi) for the Sikhs and open to one and all!
You have to take off your shoes that are taken care of by well to do Sikhs who do the service as their homage to the shrine - and their religion
The walk thru and the prasad was customary of all such revered Gurudwaras but the highlight was the Langar - free meal to one and all!
It was simplistic but yet wholesome. You sit next to a fakir or a suited businessman - here all are equal
Meal is prepared by sevadars (volounteers) who prepare and serve from their heart
A fabulous experience for one who can come down to sitting on the floor and eating with your hands and appreciate the simplicity of the enviornment and atmosphere
