“HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

We had a wonderful 2 week stay at 76 Friends Colony and wouldn't hesitate to return to stay there. It offers a unique style of accommodation with all the comforts of home plus the service of a hotel. The rooms are huge, modern, clean and serviced daily. The included breakfast is delicious and meals are available at lunch and dinner if arranged a day in advance - these meals were amazing, the best Indian food we have ever tasted. The staff were attentive but not intrusive, and very friendly and obliging. The tranquil gardens provided a welcomed respite from the hustle and bustle of life outside the gates. We stayed with out 4 and 5 year old sons, and it was great for them as they had the whole garden to run in and some friendly dogs to play with, all within the safety of the complex walls/fences. The air conditioning was fabulous and never failed. All in all, I would highly recommend 76 Friends Colony.

For some a boutique hotel & for others a home away from home...i would agree with the latter. If you are visiting a city as big as new delhi - you are overwhelmed by all aspects from the people, traffic, food etc...but the one thing that remains pleasantly overwhelming is the warmth & irreplaceablehospitality that 76 has to offer.
Great food , pristine garden - simple yet sophisticated surroundings & evening tea with the Singhs is how I loved to put an end to my day- ethereal! Highly recommend 76 .

from the moment we got picked up by our driver and handed a personalised letter we knew this was going to be special. Devika, monmohan and moni and their team treated us like old friends. with all the comforts of home with the luxuries of attentive staff at our disposal. 76 friends colony is an amazing place to stay. loved the safe location. close by to all attractions. Moni took great care of us with a light dinner on arrival left in our rooms as we arrived late. she also took care if breakfast for us as we departed early in the morning for Agra. new, modern, great value. dont forget to have dinner next door at Indian Accent. best meal we have ever eaten. although i would like to keep this as our little secret haven, i have to share our great experience and highly recommend 76 Friends Colony. will definately stay here again. thank you all so much for your kindness and awesome welcome

This is a small luxurious boutique hotel just outside of central Delhi. Though not centrally located, it is only about a ten minute taxi ride to India Gate. The building is brand new and hence is very clean and modern. There are not very many rooms. The rooms open out to a large communal area which has comfortable furniture and a large screen television. This is also the dining area. This area is unfortunately without windows but is very comfortable. While we stayed here, none of the other rooms were occupied so that this living area was pretty much an extension of our room. If you have a large party occupying several rooms, this may be an ideal arrangement with all rooms accessing this larger area. The service is very attentive as there is always staff around to see to your needs. However, there is no reception desk so that if you need help, you would need to call the manager who promptly appears. Wireless internet is free. The rooms are very large and modern with lots of electric and natural light. The baths are marble with large tubs and showers (could wash a car in there). The grounds are clean with garden on the bottom floor as well as a terrace garden on the roof. These are wonderful to hang out in, and we very often saw the owners of the hotel meeting in these areas. The train does run close by, but we found the rooms well insulated from the sound. However, if you are sensitive to noise, you may want to avoid here (but I'm not sure if you are going to get away from noise anywhere in Delhi).

The food is absolutely wonderful and reasonably priced. Someone has already mentioned the fantastic breakfast. Since this is not really a restaurant, you will have to order from a provided menu well ahead of time as well as telling them when you are going to eat. If you prefer a more public setting (which we were some of the time), the Manor is next door and is one of the best restaurants in Delhi (though it is somewhat formal and pricey).

In regards to the price, we got a bargain. I have noted that the rate that we received is much lower than what is advertised on their website which made this a no-brainer for us. We may have received this lower price because we were also doing business with their travel agency. I have noted that the advertised rate is competitive with other hotels in Delhi. However, taxes are outrageously high in Delhi. This hotel may be exempt from some of those taxes which would make this a much better deal.

Excellent value for money!!! I loved the peace and quiet of the area. The rooms are large and beautiful- well decorated with loads of natural light overlooking the garden. It feels like you're staying at home but with all the comforts of a 5 star hotel. The food was yummy- especially the breakfasts on the terrace garden.

Other amenities included free WiFi and local calls
Comfy lounge area to relax and watch TV

I was amazed to find such a peacefully quiet, serene hotel in bustling Delhi!
The whole area of Friends Colony West in southern Delhi was wonderful, and the accomodation was pure comfort. Furnishings were stylish, and the rooms were user-friendly, very clean and large. The hospitality staff took good care of us and arranged everything from airport transport, sight-seeing trips to taxis very quickly. Breakfasts were served in the relaxing, spacious dining room, or when the weather was nice, we could choose to have them in the well manicured garden or the rooftop terrace that has a fantastic view. When we wanted to stay in, with advance notice the chef prepared delicious lunches and dinners for us.

My personal favorite was the special yoga lessons in the mornings – doing yoga under the azure sky, it just felt fantastic!

I had stayed for business before, and used the public space for casual meetings w/clients. The quiet ambience helped move the discussions along smoothly. The free Wi-Fi was fast too.
I would highly recommend this place for business or for pleasure, especially to those who have high standards about hotels.

I am happy that finally I found the great place to stay in New Delhi,,, well it has been difficult for me to find such comfortable place like my home in Tokyo..... So, I share this in tripadvisor (I've never done it before though I am a globe trotter....but I thought this place should be known!).

Room Tip: Room with the Garden view is great and the other side is full of sun light... TV remote controller...

The property is amazing! Very modern, spacious, clean, and safe! The property is surrounded by beautiful gardens, which are all very well manicured. There’s wifi, a bright and sunny rooftop deck, and high-end amenities. The staff is so accommodating and friendly. As a frequent Delhi visitor, I would highly recommend this property to others, as I’ve never had an experience like I had at 76 Friends Colony. I will be staying here every time I visit!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Stay with the SinghsTravel has been and remains our passion. During our travels to Europe, North America Asia and Africa it has always been memories of the smaller more intimate lodges that have remained. Having owned and run our own hotel (we still own The Manor which has often been voted Delhi’s most popular hotel by Trip Advisor) for most of our working careers our own B&B renews the opportunity to welcome our guests in a more intimate manner. What we try and offer is modern comforts in an ambience that feels relaxed and secure. The fact that our home is in one of Delhi’s more exclusive colony’s in a very large private plot adds to the atmosphere. We would love to share our gardens with you and for those of you who miss the dogs back home, we have some lovable ones right here. Our cook Yogesh and his team would love to cook up some special Indian (and western) meals for you. Delhi can sometimes be a bit overwhelming; from receiving you at the airport to point you in all the right places to eat and see would be a pleasure. We have many friends all over the world that came as guests to the Manor but have remained friends over the years. ... more   less
