well maintained museum, it takes minimum an hour to complete. silent place. Big group of school children were visiting the museum during our visit, the way teachers explained the history- great job., we also get to know many things about Mrs. Indira Gandhi. Must visit place in Delhi ...

“A gem for mothers, particularly”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

Who knew? Who knew reviewing Indira Gandhi's life as a child, mother and leader would leave me with a lump in my throat? Fabulous, particularly, I think, if you are a daughter and mother and wife and try to run a household and have a role for yourself outside of it. Love that woman now. Go end of day (after 3pm?) when the crowds aren't jostling you for breathing space. Lots to read and see, but with crowds, it gets claustrophobic. Don't miss the gift shop. I bought postcards, a little book of a single (?) interview with her about personal views, and a fabulous 400 rupee Warhol-esque Rajiv watch. Fabulous.

“Great Museum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

I love museums in general, and this one did not disappoint! This place actually used to be Indira Gandhi's residence, and there are many interesting exhibits as well as preserved areas such as her study and dining room.

There was a lot to see and I didn't want to miss any bit of it - she had an amazing and compelling life, I wanted to read every description and see every item. The fact that this is a free museum is an added plus!

“Emotionally touching and educational! Must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

The entire museum (Indira House) was very touching and emotional. All the pictures of Indira Gandhi and family highlighted the reason why even to this day she is so revered as a beloved Prime minister. The history of the family and the various diplomatic relationships that she had growing up as the daughter of Pandit Nehru prepared her well for the role of Prime Minister during a period a rough period in India's history.
The last walk that she took before the fatal shooting is so well depicted as though she was walking on water and the exact place where she fell down after being shot is memorialized forever. What a great leader and in my opinion the greatest Prime miniter India has had.
