A very peaceful garden. We spent approx 1hr here just walking around. Lodi gardens is historical as it has tombs of Sayyid and Lodhi Rulers located in the central building. We also saw people doing yoga and wild eagles flying about. A very relaxing place to visit from the hustle and bustle of India.

I went for a short walk from the hotel and found this place. At first I thought it was just a park with lots of people enjoying themselves, but then I realised it was much more than that.

Stepping in through the gates, was wwithrawing fron the world, the bustle of New Delhi's streets. Quiet and slightly timeless. It was alnmost dusk and clearly a lot of people had come to appreciate the haven the park offered. Couples old and young, families with youg kids, groups of teens. Playing, strolling, posing for pictures Many of the apparently dressed up for the occasion. Vivid colours, eye-catching variety of clothes.

But the surroundings were not just a park. This is a significant archeological site. The remains of old buildings are everywhere, providing a backdrop for selfies and group shots. Not many structures intact but clearly there used to be something important here. Not enough explanatory plaques for me to figure out from which of Delhi's many ages these remains date. Nice to walk through history, nicer if I had known what the history was.

No supervision, guides or entrance fee. In the end, despite the slight mystery of the remains, it was the people watching I will remember best.

This was a lovely treat for us. There is a big outdoor gym equipment area that we spent an hour on, then we joined in a cricket game on the grass. Lovely place for small children
