Magnificent, but you cant walk up to it and you will be harassed continually by people trying to sell you things or begging. If you can handle that, go - the line of sight up to the Prime Ministers residence is awesome. Crowded.

Every delihite must have visited this place a couple of times in their life...As a kid it just brought the thougt of picnic with family, lots of ice cream vendors and ballon walas...

But the understanding of this place the names of our brave heros makes you salute to them and a tear in the eye for their sacrifice...

Pride of India, and shows the bravery of Indian military. It is such a nice place to visit. Rashtrapati bhawan, parliament house, all are these things are just near by....

Worth a photo - you can hop out and snap this iconic structure, but police, army and security fences are everywhere, necessary of course but it makes the visit somewhat depressing for people wanting to see the structure, same for the Parliament building etc. A quick drive-past is all you'll get.

As everything in the Middle East and Asia there is always a "Gate" for something specially to a country or a region. This is one of it. It was very promising option within the Delhi tour but unfortunately is not easy to get close since most of the time the surrounding are closed.

Its a shame. Otherwise its difficult to appreciate the details and the infrastructure of a building like this from 600 meters plus the 500 people in the middle trying to take a shoot of the gate or trying to sell you something.

Its a building you will see it even if you don't want so don't plan around it. Just do your stuff and you will pass eventually. A 5 minutes stop its more than enough.
