It is a huge gate, walls are non decorative, built by British, and has no beauty.
Do not waste time in it. A quick look from taxi window will be more than enough.

“An impressive monument.”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

This impressive sandstone monument commemorates the Indian and British soldiers who died in WWI.
While it is sometimes not easy getting past the crowds and many (many!) touts, it's still worth the effort.
Make sure to go around the monument as it provides wonderful photo ops.

“Meri Dilli!!!”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

The India Gate at one end and the Rashtrapati Bhavan on the other end, truly makes us a proud and happy Delhiite. Numerous drives on this road have not lessened the joy or pride of this monument. We are thankful to the architecture and planning of Lutyen's Delhi! The Amar Jawan Jyoti reminds us of the Defence services' sacrifices made for all of us! Jai Hind!!

“Salute the martyrs”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

India gate is part of Lutyens Delhi. Te best of British architecture and on one side Rajpath is raisina hill with the presidents estate and other side is India gate. The place retains its regal charm. India gate is a memorial for the soldiers . The entire walk is very charming. In winters walk from presidents estate area to india gate about 3 km. summers you are advised to go in the evening to beat the heat. On republic day the entire area is lit up - from jan 25th till 30 th if you visit around that time don't miss it
