Temple is devoted to Maa Shakti or Durga or Kali... One of the Goddess in Hindu culture. It is of religious importance and you see many people visiting Kalkaji temple frequently. It is well connected by local bus transport, cabs and Metro as well through Nehru place. In peak season or Navratri's you will find lot of rush there. Parking area is limited and you can find lot many places for fast food or lunch. As a visit you can also check famous Iskcon Temple near Nehru Place and Bahai Lotus Temple. Nehru place infact is a busy destination and wholesale authentic market for computer Hardware products in India.
Clieanliness could be little better at Kalkaji temple...

The temple is suppose to be there for centuries although the building is built few hundred years ago. Its a small place with a long queue. But without cribbing, you can use that time to think of Mataji and to be in Bakthi - that's because, when you get inside getting her dharshan is quite a task with the crowd inside. If you are in Delhi, and you believe in Mataji, you need to visit this temple.

It's one of oldest seedhpeeth in South Delhi where all the followers of Mata goes there for prayers. It's known that the prayers are heard there and mata gives her blessings to all her followers.

If you visit Lotus temple then you will not miss visiting Sri Kalkaji Temple. The temple is visited by thousands of Hindus on daily basis and you will find that this temple is a source of livelihood of scores of people who live nearby this temple. The ambiance of the temple is not so good due to congested and narrow lanes leading to the temple when you wish to come from the Lotus temple side.
The access from the metro station named after this temple is a good one.
