“not worth the trouble”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

the entry price and rickshaw ride getting there and in are not worth the trouble. If you get to Jaipur and visit the Amber Palace and Jaighar Fort, and the red Fort in Agra first, then the visit of the Red Fort of Delhi it is a disappointing experience. The grounds are not tended to, the tiled paths are broken and I would not recommend it for elderly folks, tripping and stubbing your toes is pre-programmed. There is an interesting armory on display but that was about it.

“good”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

The delhi fort is very nice, and is nothing compare to the one in Agra. So, when you visit the Taj Mahal, do not forget to visit Agra Fort. If you cannot go to Agra, well, this one is an alternative
A prominent tourist palce having a rich history. The architecture is unique. Its a very famous place n every body is aware of this palce.

“Combine visit with Chandni Chowk... Go to the side of Pearl Mosque to see inside”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

I took a rickshaw ride through the lanes of Chandni Chowk before entering the Red Fort. The
Red fort was built when Shah Jahan decided to shift to Delhi after ruling from Agra for 11 years.
The “Meenakari” art work on the walls are beautiful. There is Diwan-e- aam, Diwan-e-Khas, Khas
Mahal, Pearl Mosque. As I am bad at directions I downloaded the gps video tour available
on the android market as it provided a GPS guided map…. After the long walk I went for
Parathas and lassi at the Parathe wali Gali – they are simply amazing.

“Really wanted to see this Fort”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Lost quite a bit of its area and appeal since the Colonial days but well worth seeing on the edge of the old city. Big tourist area so expect to see many of your new best friends.
