Owner description: This architectural wonder looks like an enormous lotus blossom, reminiscent of the Sydney Opera House. Too bad the interior isn't even worth a look.

Get dropped off, walk through the garden, marvel, take a picture and leave.

To go inside the temple you need to take your shoes off. It isn't worth the effort and time since there isn't anything to see. Bring socks if you don't like walking around in bare feet.

It's quite far from the city and from the Kalkaji metro station as well. It was incredibly hot when we visited and had to stand in long lines two or three times, first at the security check, then at the shoe dropoff than before entering the temple, and then... nothing. The temple is completely empty except for the crowd. From the outside it looks really nice and the gardens are also well maintained but it's just not worth it, nothing special except for the exterior which looks exactly the same on Google images as well. I felt it was a waste of time.

The lotus temple is an amazing structure. Regardless of your faith, anyone can enjoy tine inside in peace, silence, and serenity focusing or meditating on who or what they believe. Before entering you must remove your shoes but burlap like maps are placed on the ground which covers most if the hot ceramic tiles leading up to the temple. There is a short explanation of the temple and the you are free to enter and sit and relax. I would recommend early in the day to avoid as much heat as possible.
