Our visit to Qutab Minar was impressive - the tower is amazing and the other buildings in the complex are also well worth seeing. The grounds were also a peaceful spot to sit and relax away from the hubbub of Delhi.

There are gazillion people in India and there are thousands of people come every day to see any and everywhere major monuments in India. So I think the best time to see such popular monument is in the morning just when it opens. One would encounter less crowd. I went to see Qutab Minar and wish to take solitude standing of the Minar. One can't expect that in the afternoon and evening. I felt this is a magnificent tower with the inscriptions of verses from Quran and the neighboring ruins of other buildings around the Minar gives this whole place a very striking appearance. There are some buildings around this big Minar that are in ruins but the Minar is still standing tall. Must place to see in Delhi. Qutab Minar is in South Delhi. My recommendation is do Delhi Haat Food & Crafts Bazaar, Hauz Khas and Safdurjung tomb after Qutab Minar sightseeing. All these sights are on (or slightly off) the same road called Sir Aurobindo Marg. Although, one can probably do these sight seeing in any order.
